Chapter Six-Act Like You Enjoy It
I ran to my room, escaping to the safest place in the pack house.
I heard a growl ripple through the house and I felt fear consume me.
I had hit the Alpha. I had challenged him. I had angered him. I lost control, a broken rule.
I locked my door behind me, knowing it wasn't much of a barrier because the Alpha could easily rip it of its hinges.
There was a growl outside of my room and I coward into my pillow.
"Open this door, right now, Alice," The Alpha demanded.
His voice was no longer human, it was animalistic. His wolf had taken over.
I shook my head, shaking violently with fear.
"Now or I'll go to your sister." He threatened.
"No!" I cried out as I flung myself at my door.
I quickly unlocked it and the Alpha swung it open. I stumbled back and he was in front of me, pinning me against the wall with his hand wrapped around my throat.
"Don't you ever touch me again. I could easily end your life right now but that'd be too quick. You won't leave this house, ever. I won't let you go find your mate. You can be mateless for the rest of your life." He snarled at me with rage.
"No...please, I didn't mean it," I begged him but he just scoffed.
"Such a pathetic girl. I don't even know why I keep you apart of this pack. Maybe I hold just start using your sister." He sneered and I shook my head violently.
"She's all I have left. Don't." I croaked, tears welling in my eyes.
Something flashed in his eyes and he dropped me.
"Don't leave this room until you have permission from me." He snapped and then left me alone.
I sat there on the floor for the rest of the day, feeling weak. My body was numb with fear and I was always afraid that the Alpha would come back. but he never did.
I had thought I was going to die for sure. He'd kill any other wolf that challenged him like that but why did he spare me?
To continue doing his dirty work. That's why.
I felt dread wash through me. That's the only reason he kept me. Why didn't he have his Beta kill the rogues or disobeying pack members? Why me? What made me so special? Was he having a laugh at breaking a girl who's lost everything except her sister?
When the sun set and the moon rose, taking the sun's position high in the sky, I left my room. I tip-toed quietly to Abby's room with my bag in hand.
A few times I stepped on the floor and it creaked but no one came out, thankfully.
Everyone was asleep by now and when I arrived at Abby's room, I found her asleep as well.
"Abby, come on. It's time to leave." I reluctantly shook her awake.
She woke up and padded tiredly out of her bed. I grabbed a blanket and stuffed it in my bag before taking both of our bags in one hand and Abby's small hand in my other one.
I led her through the house, telling her to be silent so we didn't get caught.
Once we were outside I put the bags down and told Abby that when I shifted, she had to climb on my back.
Abby couldn't shift until she was 15. He had a while to go before she could shift.
"I'm scared, Alice." She whimpered and I pulled her to my chest.
"It's ok, Abby. Everything will be alright once we find somewhere to stay." I assured her.
If I could find my mate, that'd be really good. I couldn't wait to find him. Hopefully he was close and I'd find him on my birthday.
"Are you ready?" I asked her and she have a small nod before I shifted and she climbed on my back.
I clenched the handles of our bags in between my teeth and started running towards the woods. Abby held tightly onto the fur on the back of my neck, her head hurried into my shoulder.
It's ok, Abbs I sent through the pack link.
She have a small whimper in reply and I heard a deep growl rumble in the air.
Panic surged through me and I went as fast as I could. The Alpha had found out we'd left.
I thought he wouldn't find out until morning when we'd be long gone. I thought we had a chance.
We still do, I just had to reach the border before the Alpha catches us.
I sprinted, weaving through the trees and jumping over logs that blocked the path.
There was a loud growl behind me and I looked back seeing the Alpha gaining on us in his wolf form.
There was another growl in front of me and two wolves jumped out from the trees. They weren't from the pack though. They were rogues. One was a female and one was a male.
The male leapt over me, colliding into the Alpha and my eyes widened at his actions. He was going to die. He wasn't strong enough to beat an Alpha.
The female shifted and smiled at me.
"Shift." She said and I did, not really thinking about her being a rogue.
I caught Abby in my arms before she fell to the ground and pushed her towards the female wolf standing in front of me.
"Take her. Taker care of her. Anything's better than having the Alpha able to hurt her. I'll stay behind and try to get you partner free from the Alpha." I told her and she wrapped Abby in her arms and took her bag from my outstretched hands.
"This woman will take care of you, Abby. I love you, don't forget that." I kissed her swiftly on the cheek before shifting back into my wolf and going over to where the rogue and Alpha were fighting.
The rogue was injured, a deep bite mark embedded on his shoulder. I snapped at his flank and he swiveled around. I moved around him and crashed into the Alpha before he hit the rogue.
The male wolf understood what I was trying to do and ran after his female partner and Abby who were now out of sight.
The Alpha pinned me down, growling at me. He went for my neck and wrapped his teeth around it.
Submit he snarled through the link.
I whimpered and let my body collapse.
Shift he ordered and I complied.
I didn't care what happened anymore. He couldn't use my sister against me anymore because she was gone.
I was thankful that those rogues were here tonight. I could only hope that they would take care of her. I took the risk of putting my trust in them even though rogues had killed my parents.
His teeth were still on my neck, drawing blood from their sharp points.
You tried run away, why he growled at me.
"Because I wanted to find my mate. I don't want to stay in that damn pack house anymore. There's nothing there, for me or my sister." I hissed back and groaned in pain when his teeth tightened around my neck.
You will stay here and have a party like every other girl on he 18th birthday and you will act like you enjoy it, is that under stood he snarled.
"Crystal." I growled.
Abby was safe, I hoped.
