Chapter Ten-A Knock On The Door

I had gone back to Abby's room, sitting on her bed, breathless.

I had almost kissed him. The Alpha. My mate. His touch had almost shattered my hatred for him. His closeness made me want him. His breath made me fell good, alive, wanted.

I shuddered. I was close to submitting to being his mate.

There was a knock on the door and thinking it was the Alpha, I shot to the door and locked it. The door rattled and the person on the other jade have an exasperated sigh in frustration.

The knocking became louder and I backed up, back to the bed.

"Go away," I breathed.

Why did he come back?

I then remembered that I smacked him an pushed him away. Had he come back back to get revenge? To get even and make sure I knew not to ever do that again?

"Open the door," A feminine voice sighed again.

My brows furrowed. Who was here and why?

I slowly went to the door, unlocked it, and cracked it open. A girl my age with short brown hair and blue eyes stared back at me.

"Yes," I asked in bewilderment.

"Alice, right?" She wondered with unsureness in her eyes.

"Yes, what do you need? If the Aloha has sent you, you might as well leave because I'm not going to him." I said, firmly.

"No, I just wanted to..uh, apologize." She said and looked down, wringing her hands.

"For what? I've never seen you in my life," I admitted.

When had I suddenly become so bold? Wasn't I a girl who could hardly say no to the Alpha? Now I was someone who slapped him and defied everything he's said.

"I sort of made fun of you a couple I times. I feel guilty and wanted to apologize." She glanced up at me.

"Hmm, gotcha ya." I nodded and went to shut the door, not wanting to hear her apology.

Why now, out of the blue? Was it because I was supposed to be Luna and I could possibly punish those who've tortured and bullied me?

She shot her hand out, eyes wide, shaking her head.

"Please, it really would mean something if you said something back. I know what people did was really bad and I don't think the Alpha should have done what he did. I didn't speak up because I didn't want to be bullied but realized if I didn't say anything, you'd still get bullied. I-I'm sorry. Please..." She trails off, looking at me with pleading eyes.

"Whatever, it makes no sense why you're now suddenly apologizing. Just go away," I sneered and slammed the door shut.

"I'm sorry," She whispered on the other side before I heard her scurry away.

People treat me like I'm stupid. Do they honestly think I'm going to accept their apologies in the blink of an eye. If they think so, they've go another thing comin.
