Chapter Three-They Hate Me

We all filed into the room as the late bell rang, signaling that class had started. I shuffled to the back of the room, hoping the teacher didn't notice that I was one of the many late students.

The Alpha had stopped me this morning to tell me that he wanted to talk to me after I got back from school. It had slowed me down and I had just made it here.

The teacher, thankfully, ignored us as we took our seats, mumbling something under his breath.

I slunk down in my seat, shrinking so the teacher would be less likely to call on me today.

Mr. Falon had a thing about calling on me. He knew that I hated the spot light but he probably did it because he didn't like the fact that I, a 17 year old girl, killed people.

Most of the pack knew what the Alpha had me do and they hated me for it. You'd think they'd hate the Alpha but no, they hated me instead.

The pack found out when the son of a family in the pack 'disappeared'. At first the pack believed that the boy ran away but the Alpha told them what really happened. I killed him. He explained that I had to since the boy attacked him.

No one saw the boy attack the Alpha but no dared to question him. The pack blamed me instead. They've hated me ever since, especially the parents of the deceased boy.

The teacher walked out from around his desk, pursing his lips as he waited for the rest of the students to take their seats.

"Today we will be learning about the role of the Luna. Ladies, you will want to pay close attention since you may be the Alpha's mate," The teacher began when the last student sat down.

The girls in the class smiler, whispered something to each other, and then giggled.

I just sat there, wondering how they didn't see the evil inside the Alpha. Did they not see how cruel he was? Did they not care that he made me kill people, people from the pack?

The teacher smiled at them and the girls blushed at the thought of being the Alpha's mate.

Something inside me hated them. How could they be so oblivious? The teacher knew what the Alpha did for gods sakes, and he was encouraging them to walk into his arms? What kind of sick man is he?

"The Luna is the mate of the Alpha and makes his role easier for him. She can ease his anger when things get too hard. She will also be looked up to as a leader by the pack since she is an equal to the Alpha," Mr. Falon said.

An equal with our Alpha? The guy is a control freak, no way would he ever allow someone to be just as in control as he is.

I crossed my arms over my desk and rested my chin on them. This was going to be a long class period.

"The Luna to be mated to the Aloha within two weeks so she can take on the full responsibility of being the Luna. It also gets the pack running back to normal and the Alpha easily relaxed. The Luna is a very powerful role, though. The enemies of the pack will target the Luna, knowing it will impact the Alpha as well as the pack. The pack is bonded to the Luna to protect her and the pack will eventually fall apart without her," The teacher explained.

The Alpha wouldn't give two hoots about his mate, he'd be too worried about who to kill next and how he can boss everyone around.

Ugh, when will this be over? Has Mr. Falon ever heard of cruel and unusual punishment? Mating the Alpha would totally fit that definition.

The teacher continues to ramble on and I stare at my desk, feeling tired.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow is the last day I have to be here and then I'll be free.

I smiled, slightly. Abby will come with me. I'll take her. I'll be gone before the pack or Alpha can stop me.

Tomorrow.
