Chapter 10
Percy
I walked a few blocks until I realized I had no plan. Should I barge in and fight to death or should I sneak around and grab Annabeth? This would be a good time for Annabeth to pop in with a battle-strategy. My body was shook with a wave of guilt. If I had saved her.... No it isn't my fault. Or was it?

I got to pier 22 in pitch blackness. I looked around, my eyes adjusting to my surroundings in the night. I crept to a red warehouse on the left and peeked through a crack in the boards. It was pitch black. I moved slowly towards the warehouse across from where I was, when I heard a cry of defeat come from a warehouse at the end of the pier. I silently sprinted towards it. The voice wailed again.
"He's not here!" The voice screeched.
"Silence!" A different voice, more demanding, it was Kelli. Her name made my blood boil.
Then out of nowhere a weak voice came out.
"He'll come and whip your sorry.." Her whimper made me want to curl into a ball.
"You shut your mouth girl! The only reason your still alive is because he might be 'running late', so I would advise you to keep your comments to yourself." Kelli snarled.
"And what if I don't? Huh? What are you going to do?" Annabeth asked trying to sound intimidating, but considering her state I think she was just pissing them off.
"You listen here girl, I will give your precious petty boy 5 more minutes and then, well let's just say Athena will have to find a new favorite." Kelli said the last part maliciously. I heard Annabeth take a sharp intake of breath. Which I was a bit nervous about, either she was in pain or she was going to say something to get her in more trouble, which I preferably didn't need either of. Thank the gods she didn't say anything so I took that as a good sign. I slowly crept towards the side where Annabeth's voice came from. Once I hit the side of the building I heard her from I peeked through a crack in the rusted wood. There were a few candles spread out on cardboard boxes. Annabeth was tied to a rotting piece of wood nailed to the side of the warehouse. I walked over to the board and whispered "Annabeth!" She sat bolt right up and looked everywhere.
"I'm outside." I said. Just as I said it, it dawned on her face.
"I'm gonna sneak around to the door and get in to save you, can you get your hands free?" She wiggled her hands and I could tell she was struggling. She shook her head in a sign of no. That wasn't good. I was thinking (yes I know, Percy Jackson thinking?? It's a miracle!) when it hit me. I uncapped riptide and pried it through the boards closest to Annabeth's hands. I slowly started sawing at the ropes until they cut through. She kept her hands in place just as Kelli came back towards her. I slid riptide out between the boards and slowly managed to get to the entrance of the warehouse. I counted in my head.

I flung the doors open and revealed myself to Kelli.
"I heard someone wanted Percy Jackson!" I yelled and stepped into the room.
