Gaylin placed the tape into the holo projector. Sabine, Era, Morgana and Kyle were sitting behind him. Behind the open door was Hera and Kanan.
"Let's see what dad had to show us." He stated. With that the first video began to play.
A large set of blue eyes looked into the camera.
"Is it working?" Marlin asked. He stepped back revealing his Jedi temple guard outfit minus the mask. As always he had pale skin with the large arms and legs. His lightsaber was still attached to his belt.
"Okay. Hi there son or daughter." Marlin stated looking directly into the camera.
"Son!" A woman's voice piped up from couch behind him.
"You don't know that Roxy!" Marlin exclaimed looking at the couch. A woman with long dark pink hair that was shaved to one side sat up and looked at him with beautiful dark green eyes. She smirked a bit showing off an amazing smile.
"Oh yes I do. Mother's know a lot of things." Roxy grinned.
"Okay so as I was saying we're keeping this video clip thing so you can remember the good times. It was your mother's idea."
"No it wasn't."
"Shouldn't you be in bed. It's like six am."
"Hey. You don't tell me what to do. After all the last time you told me to do something we ended up having-"
"ROXY!"
"In a abandoned building. Which helped create this thing. Oh and we almost got caught by that captain Rex guy right? Or was it someone else?"
"Okay that's enough recording for the day. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'm going to die from embarrassment in the future."
The now red face man reached for the camera. Then the screen went black for a couple moments before a playing the next clip. Which was of Roxy painting a wall baby blue. She was wearing a leather jacket, black pants, pink socks and a pink beaded bracelet. There was also a flower tattoo on her hand.
"You still don't know it's a boy you know." Marlin giggled holding the camera up. Roxy spun around revealing her large stomach. Like it looked like she had a planet under her pink short sleeved shirt.
"And you have no prof it's a girl now do you Jedi." Roxy grinned. You could hear Marlin sigh from defeat from behind the camera.
"Well you got me beat. So what do you want to say."  Marlin smiled.
"To who?"
"Don't play dumb with me miss musical genius."
"Alright fine. Baby I just want you to know you're father is a total dork who doesn't appreciate rock n roll. Which he should since he a rebel Jedi."
"Okay first off I chose to leave for you two. Second I faked my death so technically I'm a dead Jedi. Oh and you know I hate rock n roll because you're not famous for your music yet."
"Yeah, sure. Now what do you want to say to him?"
"Hi."
"Hi? You want to leave a message to our kid just saying hi?"
"Well you know I don't think well on the spot."
"Alright I'll give you a second."
With that there was a couple moments of silence that Roxy took to continue painting. She seemed to be giggling a bit about her boyfriend trying to think of something to say.
"I'm so happy to finally have a chance to have kids. Especially a wonderful one like you." Marlin snickered. His girlfriend turned around with large tears building up in her eyes.
"Oh dear lord. Roxy please don't cry a-" the video ended there. Next was a video of Roxy and Marlin slow dancing. Marlin looked as happy as possible that he was finally going to have a family. Roxy looked like she was having the time of her life. Finally when the song ended Roxy walked over. She reached to turn the camera off when she smiled.
"I can't wait to meet you Gaylin." She whispered before turning the camera off. Next was a clip of Roxy telling Marlin jokes and puns. He pretended he hated it but, you could really tell he liked it. Then next was a clip of the two talking about their lives before this. Roxy's mother had died at a young age and her father remarried. This woman she hated with all her heart. She hated her children just as much. Except for one. Her stepbrother Gaylin. He was eight years older then her but, showed her the world of music. Then he died when the clone wars first started. He had been shot in the head protecting a woman. The first thing her stepsister Lilac said during the funeral was "I loved him too. He was my brother as well." Then she along with her sister Eliza hugged her for hours. So they became best friends. That is until her stepsister Lilac was beat to death by her own boy friend. Now the only person she had left was Eliza who was getting married.
Now Marlin's story was different. Unlike the other kids in the temple his parents weren't exactly good people. His mother used to take her frustrations out on him with her belt. Meanwhile his father just ignored him. He pretended like he didn't exist. Like he never had a child. It had been obvious he could use the force so, if he so much as used it once he was locked in the basement for a week. Then at the age of four he broke in the middle of town. His mother grabbed onto his wrists so tightly it snapped in two. Of course he screamed and accidentally used the dark side chocking his mother to death. His father then proceeded to try to shot him. Yet, a temple guard saved him. Soon after that he began his training. Though once in a while he'd have the re occurring dream of him chocking his mother to death. That entire event changed him. Soon he became head of the temple guards and made his master proud. Then of course one day on parol he stopped at a pub to investigate a case. That's where he first meet Roxy. When she was preforming of course. Naturally she liked him back but, never told him. So the two became good friends. That is until Roxy was kidnapped and sold as a slave. Marlin went against the Jedi council's wishes and saved her. To say thanks she kissed him. Of course after that they began dating. Now here they were three years later. As happy as they've ever been.
Then the video ended there. Next was a video of Roxy blowing out the candles on her birthday cake for her 26th birthday. Marlin had just put the camera on the table and began eating cake when Roxy looked shocked for a moment.
"Huh. So that's what that feels like." She stated.
"What feels like?" Marlin asked. Well at least that's what it sounded like he said. His mouth was full after all.
"To have your water break."
You could hear Marlin drop his plate and scream. Then there was a flash running around the room asking Roxy if he had packed all the right everything. Including a toothbrush for the baby. Which they wouldn't need. He was in such a rush that he didn't notice the camera was still on. So Roxy leaned across the table and smiled at the camera one more time.
"I know you're father can't hear this. So I just want you to know if you ever feel alone you're not. We will always be with you. In both blood and spirit. I'll see you later baby." She stated before turning the camera off. Then the next clip was of the camera approaching an old crib. Finally you could see a tiny boy sleeping in it. He had a tiny white hat on and was wearing a little blue blue onesie.
"Say hi to the world Gaylin." Marlin chuckled.
