"I hate you! I hate you so much."

"I'm sorry! I can't help what my ranking is. I thought you would be accepting of me."

He rolled his eyes at me.

"Whatever. You're just a stupid, useless omega."

Tears start falling down at the mention of my ranking. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out.

"I thought we were best friends." He scoffs.

"You aren't my best friend anymore. You are just a stupid, male omega that no one will want as their omega."

I jolted awake when I felt someone shake my shoulder.

"Mitchy?" I said as I looked up.

"Sorry, honey. It's just me." I frowned and tears filled my eyes when I saw it was just my mother's face.

I turn towards my night stand to see the picture of Mitch and me, but I found that the frame was placed face down. It has been this way since Mitch told me that I wasn't his best friend anymore, but that doesn't mean he isn't mine.

"Oh Scotty. It's going to be okay." She says trying to comfort me by holding me close to her.

"Why does he hate me? Why does it still hurt? I-I thought we w-were b-best f-friends. I wanted h-him to be m-my a-a-al..." I couldn't finish, it hurt too much because he'll never want to be alpha.

"Shhh...Hush now. I know it hurts, he isn't worth your tears. If he really was your best friend, then he'll come around. Now let's go to sleep, huh?" I nodded.

Mom left the room, but quickly returned with a glass of water and some melatonin to help me fall asleep.

"Take this and I'll sing you to sleep. How does that sound?"

"Good." I replied quietly after taking the small capsule.

I laid down and put my head in her lap. She began playing with my hair and started to hum to lure me into sleep. And within a few minutes, I was fast asleep.

"Is he upstairs?" I hear a faint voice say.

"Yeah, he's upstairs." I recognize my mother's voice say.

"How's he doing, Mama Hoying?"

"Kirstin, he's still hurting. Why did Mitchell do this? To my baby boy? I thought he was better than this. We all thought he would be accepting him the most..." She continues to ramble, but I couldn't hear anything else she says.

The mention of Mitch's name brings tears to my eyes.

"Mitchy..." I cry out.

"Please come back."
