Clemont looked over at Serena and Ash, who were holding hands on the couch. He knew that something had been going on between his two closest friends, but they had never shown this much affection in public. Ash is still dating Dawn.
"That's a startling new development." Korrina muttered. Ash had just openly kissed Serena on the forehead.
"I guess he's not dating Dawn anymore?" Clemont replied softly.
"Or is planning on breaking up with her." Korrina muttered. "He looks so much happier with Serena." Clemont nodded. Ash was definitely happier with Serena, which led Clemont to wondering why he broke her heart 6 years ago. He understood the Yveltal problem, it had affected all of them, but he was still curious.
"Hmph." Bonnie snorted, her arms crossed. Clemont looked over, Bonnie was red-faced and glaring at a wall like it personally offended her.
"Bonnie, Ash is 20, you're 15." Korrina muttered sympathetically.
"I know." Bonnie sighed, looking back at her food. "It's stupid."
"It's not stupid to have a crush." Korrina said gently. Clemont almost spit his milk across the room.
"What?" He asked, thoroughly shell shocked.
"You're so dense Clemont." Bonnie muttered. "Ash got an idea, when are you going to?"
"Hey!" Clemont protested, clenching his fists. "I got an idea about a year ago when I started dating Korrina!"
"Hush." Korrina said, giggling. Clemont rolled his eyes and went back to his cereal.
"Ash?" Ash looked up at the sound of his name. Gurkin had come through the door, holding what looked like an egg.
"Good morning Gurkin." Ash replied.
"I have something for you." He said, holding out the object. It was an egg! A smile stretched across Ash's face as he stood, balancing precariously with his cast. Serena was ready to catch him if he fell. "Take it." Gurkin handed the egg over, and Ash took it into his arms gently.
"Wow, Gurkin thank you!" Ash exclaimed. Gurkin nodded his head.
"Hmm. It's about to hatch, keep it warm." With that, Gurkin left to return to the battlefield. Ash didn't even have time to ask him what kind of egg it was.
"Serena, look at this!" Ash said, holding the egg out to her. She smiled and touched the egg gently, it was warm.
"You should lay on it, Gurkin said it was going to hatch soon." She advised softly. Ash nodded and put the egg on the couch, curling around it. His ribs hurt, but he wanted to keep the egg warm.
"Pikachu help me." Ash said, smiling. Pikachu nodded and crawled on top of the egg, covering as much as he could with the warm fur on his body. One of Ash's pokeballs opened, and Meowstic appeared with a purr. "Good idea Meowstic. Come here." Meowstic purred once more then wiggled itself between the arm of the couch and the egg, wrapping its small arms around the blue and grey orb.
"I have an idea." Serena said. Ash looked up at her. "How about I let Ninetales out. It's a fire type, so it's temperature is naturally higher than other Pokémon."
"Sounds good." Ash agreed. Serena smiled and called Ninetales out and the gorgeous cream colored fox appeared, its tails swirling around its body.
