"We're on the property." James muttered, once he caught sight of the broken fence posts. Ash's eyes widened, and then he narrowed them in determination.

"Let's go get her then." He said roughly.

"No, wait until nighttime." Jessie exclaimed. "It'll be cold and hard to see, but at least we'll have a little bit of a surprise."

"Absolutely not." Ash snapped. "We're going after her now."

"No Ash!" Clemont exclaimed. Ash glared at the blonde inventor, who held his stare without fear. "Jessie and James are right." Ash stared hard at Clemont for a little longer.

"Fine. But as soon as it's dark we're leaving." He hissed, walking off to sit on an abandoned log. Clemont sighed. The closer they got to Serena, the harder it was to reign Ash in. Dawn had muttered something about stopping for a break yesterday, and Ash almost ripped her head off.

"I guess I'll start dinner. It's a little early, but whatever." Clemont muttered, pulling out a collapsible pot and beginning to fill it with ingredients. "Bonnie, can you go get some water? And Gary, if you wouldn't mind accompanying her."

"Sure." Gary and Bonnie said, standing up and walking into the forest.

"Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno, there's a table in my bag, can you get it out and put it up? And Korrina and Dawn, can you go get some firewood and start a fire?"

"No problem." The five muttered.

"Jessie, James, and Meowth, help Ash keep a lookout for any Team Rocket or Team Flare thugs, alright?" They nodded and started looking around. Everything was quiet. Eerily quiet. It stayed like that for a while.

"Something's wrong." Ash muttered finally. "Do you hear that?"

"I don't hear anything." Jessie replied. James and Meowth agreed.

"Exactly." Ash said, his eyes turned hard and sharp as rocks. Jessie and James inhaled sharply, realizing that indeed it wasn't good. There were none of your normal forest sounds. You can blame it on the snow, but even if there's snow, on a nice day there should still be the sounds of the forest Pokémon.

A little while later, Clemont had finished dinner, and everyone was eating. The Pokémon were all out as well, enjoying their meals. Ash was still uneasy, and Pikachu and Riolu were acting the same.

"Surround them." Ash heard the faintest noise and jumped into action.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt! Riolu, Focus Blast! Charizard, Blast Burn! Torterra, Frenzy Plant! Meowstic, Disarming Voice! Greninja, Water Shurikan!" Ash shouted. His Pokémon obeyed without question, sending their various attacks into the woods surrounding the little clearing. Ash's friends were confused, and extremely irritated that their food and the table had suddenly been vaporized, electrocuted, or charred to ashes, but then they heard the grunts and screams.

"Charge!" A voice yelled. The clearing soon exploded with a plethora of Pokémon and their trainers. The others jumped up, no longer irritated with Ash. They were going to jump in, but Ash's Pokémon were in a circle surrounding the group, and needed absolutely no help.

"Keep using your attacks!" Ash yelled angrily, staring around at his team. He ignored his friend's voices, and focused on the battle. A few trainers and their Pokémon broke through, but the Pokémon were thoroughly taken care of by Gary.

"Do you need my Pokémon?!" Gary asked.

"Just take on the ones that get through, my team can handle it!" Ash commanded, sounding every bit like the champion of 5 regions.
