"Mom, Angel keeps poking me." I said poking her back. "Stop it!!!" I yelled.

"What you going to do about it?!" Angel yelled back.

"Both of you stop it right now or you're not getting anything from the store." Mom said, looking at both of us with her 'do it or else' looks.

Angel and I both looked at each other and shook our heads, making one of those deals to stop for now. I looked out the window and started to watching the rain roll down the window of the car, I noticed that the rain was picking up and was hitting the car harder and harder. I didn't think anything of it being that my step-dad was a decent driver. He has drove in worse things than this. Then I look over at Angel and saw her drawing on the window with her finger. I heard lightning in the distance. I look back over out my window just in time to see a car nearly hit us.

"Nice one Jeff," I said shaking my head sarcastically, "Almost got us killed agian."

"I do better next time." His said laughing lightly.

Then my hearing went out, like someone hit a switch, my hearing was turned off. The car started sliding side ways and I look over out the window and see that the car was now, for some reason in the air, then it hit me, we went into the ditch at such an angle it flipped the car. Then we hit a tree with such force Angel and me were thrown from the car, because we were not wearing our seat belts and landed about fifty feet away. I look over and see that Angel isn't moving. My ears ringing I look over and see that the car was leaking gasoline and that there was a down power line, that we evidently hit, by the car. I couldn't move, my body was paralyzed, all I could do was watch in horror as the gas puddle grew bigger and bigger, getting closer and closer to the power line. I looked at Angel, seeing that she hasn't moved from the spot she landed. Then I see a huge puddle of blood under her and that's when I notice the branch sticking out through her side. And that's when I feel a wave of heat over come me...... the car exploded. Still looking at Angel, I come to the conclusion that she was dead, because the amount of blood I saw.... it was obvious. I look towards the road and see the flashing lights of police and emergency crews arriving. I passed out.

I came to in the ambulance jumping up and screaming, scaring the hell out of the paramedics. I grabbed my head in pain.

"Where's Angel?" I asked, "My sister, where is she?"

The female paramedic looked at me, "Honey, she was DOA. I'm sorry."

"What? DOA? What is that?" I said looking at her desperately for answers.

I could tell that she didn't want to say it, but she mustered the strength and said, "Dead on arrival, hun, dead on arrival."

I took my hand hand off my head, and she told me to lay down. I'm laying there, thinking everyone is dead.... I'm alive.... I didn't know what to do. I looked at the ceiling of the ambulance in a daze thinking of ways to try cope with everything.

"I honestly don't know what to do next," I thought to myself, "guess once everything gets done with, I will just have to go back to school and try to continue as normal."

Little did I know at the time, my life would never be the same once I got back to school.
