Going down a long hallway, the walls were a plain white, and other than a couch, an end table and few other furnishings, there wasn't much to house.
I entered a room. A man was sitting in the center, he was near a table. Elizabeth motioned to me to have a seat. I did.
"I bet your wondering why Elizabeth brought you here." The man said while pouring himself a cup of tea.
"Yes," I said, "I am, I was also wondering how..."
"You got here." he said cutting me off.
"Yah, how did you know I was going to say that?" I asked.
"That's usually the first question everyone asks, but lets get right to business," he said, "We need your help Tyler."
"My help? My help?," I said sarcastically, "How am I supposed to help you? Just the other day I didn't know I could fight like that, let alone take the beating like I did. I really don't remember much about the fight anyway. But I do remember I lost."
Elizabeth came and sat down next to me, "Do you know that your as strong as me right now? Keep in mind you haven't had any training, I have."
I looked at the guy, then at Elizabeth."Really?" Elisabeth, shook head.
"Just imagine how strong you'll get if I train you." She said leaning on the table.
I thoughtfor a second, "What is it that you need my help with?" I asked.
"We don't know who for sure, but we know when. Something or someone is coming and we think that it's a god, judging from its power signature, but it's been at least a thousand years since something like this has happened." The guy said looking at cup of tea.
Then he looked at Elizabeth, "I don't think we should've told him, at least not yet." he said.
"Come on, he should know, because if he says yes, he needs to know what he's getting into. Besides he's not going to be alone. Right? I mean you did get the other fighters." Elizabeth said looking at him with decisive look on her face.
"Well.... when I had my people reach out to the ones that I thought would be able to help. They asked why and when they were told... they kind of said that I was crazy for even attempting that kind of losing battle. Then they just left." he said all that knowing that he made her pissed.
Elizabeth looked at me, "Look," she said in a firm time, "this thing that he said that you'll be fighting, well he's basically a god. A god in the sense that other people have tried to beat him and failed, Not in the sense that he's immoral. And trust me a lot of people have tried. If you don't want to do this, it's fine just let me know."
I took a minute to think about it. "Sure. My family is dead and all my friends I knew are dead, at least I think so. My memory is still in and our on that." I said, "but I need to know something...."
"What?" Elizabeth asked.
"You said that you knew when he is coming, so when is he?" I asked.
"He's coming in about 5 years time." The guy said.
Then the guy looked at me, laughed and then said, "Well why don't you train him Elizabeth. Besides, he needs the training. I taught you everything I know, just teach him what I taught you." he said with a face of someone getting pay back.
Elizabeth didn't want too at first, but in the end she did. After we walked out of the house she turned to me, looked at me with the corner of her mouth starting to form a smile and laughed as she started to shake her head.
"I really hope he's right. Last time he made me watch someone, a planet was almost destroyed." She said. "I thought I was going to have to step in the fight and finsh him off for you."
"Wow, what have I gotten myself into? Less than two days ago I didn't know how well I could fight, and now I'm being told that I can beat this thing, this.... god. I honestly don't know what to take of all this." I said looking at Elizabeth. "At least one good thing has come of all this."
"And what would that be?" she asked with a questionable look on her face.
"I'm training with you." I said. As soon as it came out of my mouth, I was regreting I ever said it. My stomach starting feeling upset and a lump started forming in my throat. I was nervous.
She looked at me. She knew that I was trying to flirt with her. She started to blush and a slit smile started to form on her face.
"Thanks." She said looking away from me.
I started getting the feeling that she hadn't had anyone to flirt with in a while. Probably because she's been focusing on training and everything else.
"If you don't mind me asking," I started, "how old are you and how long have you been training?"
She gave me a look and then she said, "Seventeen and six years. Why do you want to know?"
"I just want to know how out matched I am. Considering I haven't had any traning at all and you've had six years of it." I said hoping she wouldn't investigate any farther.
"Grab my hand," she said, "I need to get you situated"
I grabbed her hand nervously, "Where are we going?" I asked.
"My house." She said confidently, but with a flirtatious look on her face.
