We arrived at Elizabeth's house almost instantly.
"That trick must come in handy," I said admiring her.
"Yeah it does. And in case you're wondering, I'm going to teach you how to teleport too. But we have to get you to learn the basics first. We'll start in a couple of days though. You hungry?"
"Uhhh... yeah actually, I can't really remember the last time I had something to eat." I said still admiring her.
"What?" she asked.
"What?" I said snapping out of the daze she put me in. "Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I spaced out."
"It's alright," she said with a smile, "What do you want to eat?"
"I'll eat anything," I said, "I'm not picky about what I when I'm at someones house."
"Ok," she said while looking in the freezer.
While she was cooking dinner, I took this time to reflect what was happening.
"Starting in a couple days, I'm going to train to beat something that I have no idea what it is, as far as I know my school was destroyed, all my friends are dead, and I some how have the power to potentially destroy a planet. Or at least I think so." I thought to myself.
"What have I gotten myself in too." I said softly to myself as I placed my head table.
Elizabeth brought the plates of food to the table. She put one down in front of me. She made baked chicken, peas and mashed potatoes. I just sat there still trying to take in everything that's happen.
"Over welemed?" Elizabeth asked.
"A little bit. Its just a lot to take in. First, I fight this dude that I don't even know and everyone I know dies, at least I think so. Now I'm being told that I'm the only one who can beat this thing that's coming. Nothing good has happened to me in the last forty eight hours." I said about to break down in tears. "All my friends and family are dead and I couldn't save them. I....."
"Look," Elizabeth said cutting me off, "Things look like shit right now, I see that, but look at it like this, after I train you and you unlock your true power, you can take it out on this thing that's coming. It may not be the thing that originally caused everything, but as far as I know, that's as close your going to get."
"I guess you're right," I said, "I mean what else can I do. I don't have anything or anyone to go back too..."
"Don't start thinking like that!! You start thinking like that your not going to be able to focus when we start training." She said cutting me off again.
"Ok, your right," I started, "I need too focus on the here and now, not what on happened. There's nothing I can do to change what happened, but I can make things happen the way I want them to happen. I just have to train, hard."
"There you go." she said with a beautiful and brightening smile.
After we finished eating, she took the plates to the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later.
"So, what do you want to do now?" She asked, "We can play video games, go for a walk, I'm really up for anything."
"Actually I just want to relax right now." I said, "How about some tv?"
"Sure. Just give me a couple of minutes. I'm going to change." Elizabeth said walking to what looked like her bedroom.
A few minutes went by and she came out wearing a plain white T-shirt and some gray loose shorts.
"Here," she said as she started to hand me some clothes. "umm.... I got you some clothes I thought might fit you, I mean you have nothing else to wear."
I looked at the clothes she handed me, it was just some shorts and a black shirt.
"This will be fine. Do you have a shower?" I asked.
"Yeah, down the hall last door on the left." She said pointing down the hall.
"After I take a shower maybe we can...."
"Why don't we just stay focused on training right Tyler." She said looking at me with her dimonand blue eyes.
"That line is only going to work for so long Elizabeth. Sooner or later you're going to run out of excuses." I said with my head tilted to the side with my eyes looking at her flirtatiously.
Then she got up and walked over to me, her face now inches from mine. I could hear her heart beating, her every breath, then she said, "I know." Then she walked off to her room.
