  Carl was in my science class. He took a seat behind me. There was a substitute and we were being showed a movie.

"So lil mama is everyone leaving you alone?" He asked.

"Yeah, its great. Thanks!" I said cheerfully.

"Glad to be help. Now I got something you can repay me for," he said and smirked.

My stomach dropped a few thousand feet. My fists clenched the fabric of my jeans. My throat felt like there was a lump in it.

"What is it?" I asked nauseously.

"So there's a party next Friday and I want you to come, with me." He said totally serious.

I was immediately going to say no but I did owe him a favor after all.

"Alright fine. Whatever," I said and relaxed a bit.

"All right lil mama," he said.

I rolled my eyes and then glued them to the television.

thursday night.
a week later.

I have been hanging out with Carl more and more. People haven't bullied me in over two weeks now, it's amazing. Kyle and I are still and fighting but Delilah seems to be no help. Carl and I were walking along the empty streets of Chicago when he pulled out a cigarette. He lit it and inhaled. After a few puffs I took it out of his mouth. He looked at me confused. I then stuck it in my mouth and inhaled. After sucking the smoke in for about 10 seconds I exhaled.

I instantly coughed. My lungs felt like they were coming out of my body.

"You aren't supposed to suck it in for that long lil mama," he said taking it back and stomping it out.

"Yeah. Right," I said and looked down at my feet in embarrassment.

Around Carl I could say I felt more rebellious. It was like I didn't have to be scared around him. When we both decide to walk home I quickly ran home. It was 11 pm and I knew I couldn't walk through the front door. I pushed the living room window open and climbed through.I made my way to my room and collapsed in my bed.

Today's the day I go to the party with Carl. I was honestly pretty nervous. He told me to come to his house at around 7 and we would leave together.

The school day went by very slow. At lunch Debbie sat down beside me.

"What are you doing tonight?" She asked.!

"Oh I have plans," I said.

She nodded her head and continued eating her food.

When the end of school came Carl ran up to me.

"I'll see you roun' seven aye?" He said smirking.

"Yeah. Yeah." I said and walked away from him.

I pitched a ride home from The Gallaghers and rushed inside my house. I went to my closet and ripped out clothes. After a while I couldn't decide what to wear. I was so frustrated.

I heard a knock at my door. Delilah walked in and said, "Oh my god what happened to your room?" I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I can't find an outfit to wear!"
