The words drug deal rang in my head. I had two options... should I risk my life and show I can do it, or don't do it and chicken out? I thought about the two and took deep breaths.
"I'm ready," I said unsure.
"Okay so there's some dude named Pablo. He is big time business, always bringing the money in. You give him the drugs and get the money. The downside is he doesn't always play fair. I'll come and help you if you need," he said loading his gun.
I shook my head.
He leaded me to the alley way of West 23rd street. I saw a man in a suit standing. I took another big breath and strutted towards him. I tired my best to look confident.
"Sir Pablo," I said. He turned towards me sucked on the toothpick in his mouth.
I leaned my back against the wall next to him.
He handed me a cigarette. My hands were sweating but I grabbed the cigarette and he lit it. I inhaled the chemicals and huffed it out. It tasted nasty but it surprisingly calmed my nerves. I puffed on it awhile. I stomped it out and slid the backpack over towards him.
He nodded in satisfaction.
"The money?" I said.
"Ah yes," he said reaching to his pocket.
"BAM!" The sound of gunshots was heard ringing throughout my ears.
I took out my gun and ran over to the dumpster. I sat down on the ground and held the gun close to my chest. (Gif). Pablo grabbed the bag and ran. I huffed, and closed my eyes tightly.
I ran with all my speed towards him trying my best to dodge the bullets. I shot a few surprisingly, but was way off aim.
The sound of gunshots got lower and lower as I chased him throughout the street.
I was approaching him and he looked scared. When I reached him I jumped on his back and he made a big thump. I placed my legs on his back. I took the backpack and money. Carl caught up with me. I took the gun and whipped Pablo in the face. Carl looked at me shocked.
- carls point of view -
I chased Hadley down the street. When I caught up to her she had already taken down Pablo. She then hit him with her gun. She looked at me and I swear she just didn't have the same twinkle in her eye.
"We need to get rid of the body," she said sternly.
Still flabbergasted, I nodded my head and helped her drag the body into the nearest dumpster. He wasn't dead, he was out cold. After we had managed to put his body in the dumpster she rubbed her hands together and did a victory dance.
"That was fucking awesome!" She said.
I smiled shyly but remained quiet. The whole time home she went on and on laughing and screaming about what it was like. The boys liked her and thought she was cool but that was definitely NOT the Hadley I knew.
back to hadleys point of view;
The whole car ride I laughed with the men about what it was like. The feeling of being rebellious was something I loved. The adrenaline was something I never wanted to end. It was fucking fantastic.
I skipped into Carl's house. We sat on his bed. He cranked his music and I hummed along.
Carl sat on a chair and chewed on his nails.
"You alright?" I asked.
He nodded his head and continued to stare at the floor.
"Carl look at this money!" I exclaimed opening the bag. I took it out and threw it around the room.
I spun around in it and danced. (yes, my life goals too.)
I laughed as all the money went everywhere. He still remained silent.
"I thought you would be happy that we got this money," I said.
I shook my head and walked out of his room into Debbie's.
I took a seat on her bed and she lifted her head from reading a book.
I walked over to her mirror and examined myself. I turned different angles to make sure I saw myself. I moved my hands to my hair. I shook it around and ran my fingers through it.
"Would you call me crazy if I said I wanted to die it?" I asked Debbie.
She smiled.
"What color?" She asked.
