"It looks amazing!" Debbie squealed as she handed me the mirror.
I took the rusty old mirror and steadied it, looking at myself. My mouth dropped when I saw my blonde hair with purple ends.
"I love it," I said.
I always wanted to dye my hair but it was something I had never I could rock.
"You even added some purple ends. Nice!" I said high fiving Debbie.
She ruffled my hair and I was astonished at how different I looked.
My brown eyes were more prominent.
We walked out of her room and we both walked down stairs.
"I love the new do," Fiona said twirling my hair.
She grabbed her purse and rushed out of the house. This was an ordinary Sunday for the Gallagher household. People were at work or the bar. Except for Debbie. Debbie was usually the only one home.
Lip ran down the stairs in a hurry.
"Has anyone seen my shoes?" He said yelling.
Debbie ran off and came back with a pair of work boots. He raced out the door with Ian.
"Look Hadley Mandy's taking me out shopping today so I gotta run. You can stay here or leave," she said gathering her belongings.
Once she left I just decided to sit on the couch. I must've fallen asleep when someone called my name.
I woke up to see Carl staring at me.
"What did you do to your hair?" He asked sipping a beer.
"I dyed it. You like?" I asked flipping it.
"It's cute Lil Mama," he said sitting next to me.
"Can you get me one?" I asked gesturing to the beer.
He returned with a cold Bud Light. He opened it and handed me it. I took refreshing sips. He turned on the tv. He put his arm around me and I lied my head on his shoulder.
Around 7 i figured it was time to go home. I called Kyle since he was in the neighborhood and asked if he could pick me up. When he was out front I made sure to say good bye to everyone.
In this car his eyes widened.
"Your hair," he said.
"Yeah," I said twirling my hair.
"Can we stop at the Kash n Grab? I need to get something," I said turning up the volume.
"Sure I guess," he said focusing on driving.
"Just hopped off the plane I just got out about a day ago. Everybody love me, when they see me they be like, 'There he go!'" I bolted the words to Kodak Black's song There He Go.
I started getting into rap music more and more. It wasn't bad as had I once thought.
At Kash n Grab I headed towards the counter nervously.
I looked behind the Indian man at the counter and examined the cigarettes. I didn't remember what we had smoked that one day. I bit my finger nails trying to decide what to get.
"Having trouble?" He said in his thick Indian accent.
"Kinda," I said laughing.
"I've heard Marlboro is the choice among teens," he said taking a green package off the shelf.
"8.43," he said And handed me the cigarettes.
I paid him and slipped the pack into my jacket pocket.
When I arrived home Delilah ran up to me and ran her fingers through my now blonde hair.
"Wow it's just... different," she said.
I looked at the clock and noticed it was 10. I headed to the bathroom to take a shower. I then fell asleep.
When my eyes opened my clock read 6:42. I woke up and got changed into my clothes for the day. I put on makeup and looked at myself in the mirror. (pic at top is what she looked like)
Kyle drove me in. When we pulled into the parking lot his friends looked at me and their jaws dropped to the floor.
"Your sister," Sebby said.
"Shut up Sebastian," I said and ran in the direction of Carl and his friends.
"Hey!" I said to him.
He put his arm around me and pulled me into a hug.
"Hey," he said smiling.
They were all smoking and I pulled out a cigarette and lit it. Carl looked at me confused but let me continue.
I inhaled the cigarette and exhaled. I took a seat on the concrete as I listened to the conversation.
When we went to class I paid zero attention. Girls gave me dirty looks for some reason.
I heard whispers behind me.
"Yeah did you hear about Dominque, she's back." One of the students said.
The name sounded familiar but then I realized who it was... it was Carl's ex.
