Hey guys, hope you've liked the story so far.. Sorry I've been gone a while, lot of things going on.. But I'm back ! Her dress is on the side!! Enjoy the chapter loveliesss..
Jenny POV
It was graduation day! Finally we were going to start our own lives and begin our own journey in the world. I woke up with so much energy, it was surprising I slept at all. I took a shower and started getting all my things together. My mom was going to take me to the salon so they could do my hair, make up, nails and everything else. As graduation had gotten closer ,I went to the mall trying to find a perfect dress to wear and at the end I think I found it.
I was going for a braid but I was also changing my hair color. Naturally, I have long brown curls but now my hair is going to have brown roots and the rest blonde, it makes a great contrast. No one knew about my new look so I was hoping everyone would like it, especially Zac. I smiled just thinking of him. In about 3 weeks we would be starting our lives together, it was a scary thought but also something I was extremely excited for. Zac is everything I've ever wanted and more, I was so ready to start a journey by his side.
Graduation was tonight at 6:30 until 8 P.M. and after we were all going to get together at Zac's house that was very nicely decorated, kind of like an after prom for absolutely no reason, the seniors just decided on that and Zac's parents were kind enough to lend us the house since they were on a business trip anyway.
I got to the salon at 12:30 and left at 4. How did that even happen? God knows. My hair looked absolutely gorgeous, I loved it! It was in a braid to the side and the blonde and brown contrasted perfectly. My make up was a light yellow that out lined my eyes. When I got home I put on some jewelry, which was all silver with no necklace. My heels were a nice simple silver color since you couldn't seem them that well because of the length of the dress. I looked at the clock and it was already 5:40. We had to go.
My parents and sister started taking pictures of me while I walked down the stairs. I just laughed and posed because I knew how much my parents loved taking pictures of us. Finally we were all in the car and on our way to the auditorium. My phone vibrated as I was staring out the window.
" On my way there! Can't wait to see you princess Xx" - Z
I smiled and thought about how lucky I was to have this amazing human being by my side. We made it to the auditorium at 6:20 which was perfect because I could see everyone before the ceremony actually started. I kissed my parents and sister, and started walking towards where we were all supposed to meet outside of the main auditorium doors. All my friends were huddled in a corner, talking and laughing. I could see Zac, Luke, Angie, Diana, Mary, Jonathan, Jason and Garrett. I stopped walking and just looked at them. We were going our separate ways soon. Would we stay in contact? Would everything change between us? Would we all be a distant high school memory? I didn't know, but either way I was glad to have them in my life. I took my phone out and took a picture. It came out perfect because it seemed like Garrett had just told a joke and they were all laughing. I smiled lightly and made sure my make up wasn't ruined because I would start crying before graduation even started.
Zac was the first to see me. He was in mid sentence when he saw me and stopped talking while looking at me with big eyes. Then they all turned towards me and made the same face. I started laughing and said "Oh come on guys, do you need a picture with a signature too?" I said it with a joking tone but really they were starting to freak me out because no one was saying anything. Did I look that bad or....? Zac seemed to get out of his trance as I said that and came towards me with a rose in his hand that I clearly hadn't noticed before because clearly he pulled it from out of his ass.
"Jen you look absolutely beautiful. I am the luckiest guy in the world." I smiled and kissed him. He gave me the rose and I spoke loudly this time " you guys are acting like I'm getting married, come on, start the teasing." I realized that Zac was wearing a light yellow shirt that matched his black pants and I was absolutely stunned. How the hell did we end up coordinating if I hadn't even told him the color of my dress? They all started laughing and making the teasing jokes. "Wow looks like you guys really are getting married with the matching outfits and all." I laughed and just shook my head, while Zac put his arm around my waist.
The administrators started calling us in so we had to put on our cap and gown. I thanked the lord that the gown was shorter than my dress because if not I was definitely going to end up with my face on the auditorium floor. We all sat in our corresponding seats and waited for the principal to say his words to us. I might want to mention that I was chosen as valedictorian so I had to give the 'epic' graduation speech everyone was waiting for. I worked on it since the moment they told me they had chosen me which was like 2 months ago. No one knew what I wrote and I wanted it to be a surprise. My time was coming up and I was freaking out. I took deep breathes and waited for the principal to call me up.
"And now for the class of 2017 valedictorian, Jenny Evans." I almost froze when he said my name but thankfully Angie nudged me and so I got up and walked to the podium. I smiled at the audience and waited for the clapping to stop. I made eye contact with every single one of my friends, found my parents in the audience and finally, landed on Zac.
"Good evening, parents, teachers, students of the Class of 2017. Wow, can you believe it? We made it! 12 years, if not more for some of us, to get to this moment of our lives. I wanted to take a moment to thank our parents, teachers and absolutely everyone else who helped every single one of us to get here. All your help is so appreciated and we all thank you so much for that." The crowd started clapping, while all my classmates turned to whistle and howl and the rest of the audience. " We have made it this far and I can honestly say I am so proud of all the bonds, connections and friendships I have created here. I know we will all look back and at least smile at one memory we created in the halls of this school. But our journey isn't over, this is just the beginning. We have so much more too accomplish and so much more to live through and I can't wait to look at each of you in 10 years and praise all the accomplishments you will make. But right now we are living in the present and that's what we are here for. Be proud, no matter how many falls it took you to get back up and be here today, be proud, because you made it and at the end that's all the matters. So thank you, for all the amazing memories and incredible adventures. This chapter ends here, but a new one starts tomorrow. Congratulations Class of 2017! It's time to take it home one last time!" Everyone got up to clap, howl and just smile at me. I laughed, waved and walked off the stage.
They called our names one by one, and finally the last person was said. " Will all the graduates please stand up." I looked at Zac and we both smile at each other. " Please take your tassels from the right side and move them to the left. Congratulations graduates of Class of 2017!" The clapping started and we all threw our caps into the air. I felt arms attack me and pick me up. When I looked down Zac was holding me with a big ass smile on his face. I laughed and kissed him. Our friends and parents started bombarding us with pictures, hugs, kisses and everything in between. We graduated. We did it.
It was the start of something new.
