I got up I didn't sleep. I never really did sleep I wouldn't have to either. I just like to lay in Odin's bed and relax. The guards thought it was because I was getting old but it obviously wasn't the reason.
I walked to the throne room and awaited Verdandi's arrival. I sat on the throne. I felt a small breeze from the outside. Maybe I was a frost giant but cold still maybe me shiver. Unlike most frost giants I had made a name for myself.
Could any of them say the same? Maybe Laufey could but he was dead.
Did I regret killing him? No. I don't regret killing anyone. It actually brought me a sense of honor.
I feel like a great man and yet here I was cowering in a fake body of Odin. I bet if Verdandi really knew she would be proud if me.
I smiled slightly to myself. I heard the doors open at the far side of the hall.
Verdandi rushed out with ease and grace. When she's determined she becomes like oh what are those thins call. That thing with wings...what do humans call it? An angel? That was her.
"My lord," she bowed slightly.
"Verdandi, what troubles you?"
"I would like to speak in absolute privacy if that is alright with you," she raised her eyebrow.
"Of course, come" I stood up and walked to my chambers. She followed close behind me. We walked in and I shut the door.
"What is it?" I spoke in low whisper.
"You know what it is, I have reason to believe that you are not Odin but Loki." She stated. Her brown eyes drive into my own.
"Ha, you believe me Odin Allfather was tricked by Loki? Have you lost all sense when you were with the humans? I couldn't have been overtaken but such a pitiful force," I tried to sound mad yet kind. That's what Odin would have done.
"I do believe that Loki could've overpowered Odin, he was weak and in mourning! Loki stop this!"She reached out to grab me.
"Verdandi do not make me get the guards so you will calm down."
"If your Odin what did you tell me before I fell, what were your last words?!" She almost screamed.
I didn't know. I took in a deep breath. Did Odin know she wasn't coming back? If he did them he might of...
"I told you Loki was taken under our wing when he was born, I told you he was a frost giant," I let out with a sigh.
Her face softened. I had gotten it right.
"I'm sorry I doubted you, I just had to make sure," she turned away.
"Young child we can't be right all the time, I understand you loved Loki once and you probably grabbed on to any hope out there," I patted her shoulder.
She smiled and walked away. Back to her room most likely.
I watched her in silence. Odin told her about me. He probably made sure she wouldn't come back. He might have sabotaged the Bifrost all along.
I felt a lump in my throat as I walked back to the throne room.
I remember the day I watched her fall into that black hole. I remember riding home and going to her room.
It was a living hell for me.
Yet no one cared that much.
Of course then again I did see her again.
