Why? She stood there in silence. Her eyes asked so many questions. Yet she was speechless.
Why had I told her?
I wish I knew. I shouldn't have ever told her. She walked away. Tears in her eyes. A month passed.Verdandi hardly came out of her room now.
I sat on my throne. Everyday, every damn day.
Ruling Asgard wasn't as tantalizing as it seemed.
Not only did I have to sit there I found I was extremely bored. I had to rule as the benevolent god Odin not as King Loki.
I usually looked for anything new. All the realms were at peace. Except for one. Midgard.
It seems humans stirred up trouble. Such petty things and yet they were doing more than I was.
I sat on my throne and watched the doors open. I was staring at them for so long I was surprised to see Thor rushing in.
"Father, I ask of your help," Thor kneeled before me.
"What is it?" I stood up. I was slightly alarmed.
"It seems a new threat has come, Midgard is being attacked by a force, the force that once controlled Loki."
I stop. The Other and Thanos had finally done it.
'There will be no barren moon no crevice where we can't find you'
I felt a slight bit of fear edge it's way into me.
"You would like me to send an army?" I stepped down to Thor.
"Father all the realms are in trouble if we do not help now," he pleaded.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Verdandi come out full armor.
"I shall do as you ask," I nod to one of my guards.
"Rally the troops, we are going to Midgard," I walk to Verdandi.
"What's going on?" she asks.
"I need you to get a second army ready my old friends are back to take over, they will come here next," I whisper in her ear.
I can't tell what the fear in her eyes are from. Me or the fact her world is going to be destroyed.
"I will do it." She turns away to rally the second army. Something in my heart or maybe my head tells me to make her go to a safer place.
I'm not sure if that's called love or care.
