"What brings you home Verdandi?" Odin boomed.

"I have been with humans a long time, I needed to time heal from the horror of them," I was pretty good at lying. The humans taught me that lying is almost essential to life.

"It's is good to have you home, you are welcome to eat supper with me," Odin nodded curtly.

Something about him seemed off. I mean his wife died and then his son died and now his other son is saving earth. It must get quite lonely.

I walked towards my room. I noticed the door was slightly open. Had I left it open like that?

I hadn't been home in a year. Someone would have shut it. I pushed on the door slowly.

Sif sat on the bed staring up at me.

"Verdandi," she got up and hugged me.

"Sif," I smiled into her ear.

"I was told you were back and I decided it was time I told you," she looked sad.

"Tell me what?" I sat down on the bed and so did she.

"While you were gone someone broke into our vaults and stole relics. Odin hasn't told Thor yet, but apparently the people who helped Loki were the ones who stole them. We have been trying to locate it but if we do not earth is in much danger." She spoke with fear in her face.

"Not just Earth all of the realms," I realized the gravity of the situation.

She nodded her head.

"Well I will talk to Odin about it." I spoke curtly.

Sif got up and left. I laid in my bed. I felt a strange feeling in me,

Fear crept into my heart an soul as I thought of Loki.

Did Loki's 'friends' put images of Loki in mind? Was I next in line for death?

It must have been getting towards supper time because a young girl knocked on my door.

"Supper will start in 10 minutes my lady," the girl whispered. She was very young and pretty.

"Thank you," I got off the bed and went to my closet. All of my dresses were hung up inside.

I picked a simple gown. I put it on and put my hair in a long braid down my back. I then took my dagger and put it on my leg. I carried everywhere.

I opened my door and went to the dining room. If only I could look into the future and see what was truly in store for me.
