Going home

I didn't stay long in Asgard. I knew I had to leave and go back to earth. I went to approach Odin. It was a week after Thor had returned.

"My Lord, I would like permission to leave and return to earth," I knelt before the throne.

He looked down at me as if he was saddened by the fact I was leaving.

"Take a walk with me," Odin spoke as he got up. He waved the guards off. He walked down towards me and we started walking.

"It has been a long time since you went to earth, do you remember that day the day you fell?" Odin said as we walked outside.

"Yes," I whispered.

"You were angry that you had to go and Loki was so angered he said he would never forgive me, I don't think he ever did," Odin lead me to the overlook.

"When it malfunctioned he tried to get you, but in vain afterwards he ran your room and stayed there for many days then he got himself together and came out. He loved you more than anything else, even in the end he loved you more than the power he craves," Odin sighed. I felt tears in my eyes. I looked up to the sky and realized where this spot was.

Loki and I used to come here when we were kids. I knelt down and picked up a tile and flipped it over. It had our names on the back.

Not in a heart just out names next to each other.

I stared at it as the memory of that day came flooding back.

Little Loki and I were running around. We looked as if we were four years old.

"Loki, hurry up," I pranced around in my new dress.

"I'm coming," he leaped out and smiled at me.

"You look pretty today Verdi Birdie," he called me by nickname.

"Thank you Loki Slowkie," I ran towards the outlook. I knelt down and smiled. He ran towards me and stood above me.

"Kneel," I said. He just kept standing with a goofy smile.

"I said," I got a mad face, "kneel," I yelled. Loki kneeled as though he was scared.

"Yaa, you listened," I clapped my hands. We sat there talking about what we were going to do when we got older.

"Loki, if you become king can I be your queen," I asked.

"Yes, of course," he smiled.

"Loki do you love me," I smiled.

"Yes forever," He hugged me and we sat there and flipped a tile over and carved our names into it.

I stared at it until Odin cleared his throat.

"Sorry I was just thinking," I stood up and brushed off my dress.

"I know, I give you permission to go to earth," he started walking away.

"Thank you," I bowed slightly and ran to my room.

But I had to do one last thing. I walked down more hallways to find what I was looking for.

Loki's room.

I opened the door and walked in. I shut the door behind me. It was evident no one had lived here in a while. Yet I could tell it was Loki's room. I went on the bed and let myself snuggle in the covers.

Even if he hadn't been here in a while it still smells like him. I closed my eyes and felt myself fall asleep.

The next morning I said my goodbyes. Sif cried but said she would kill me if I told anyone.

I said goodbye to Odin but he seemed to sad to say anything but good luck.

Thor almost killed me with a hug.

"Check up on Jane okay," Thor said.

"You saw her like two days ago," I laughed. I couldn't wait for the day they got married. I went to the Bifrost. I said goodbye to Heimdall. And just like that I felt myself zoom out of Asgard and I saw the tunnel around me.

I felt myself land in New York City.

This wasn't the place I was born but it was very much my home.

And now I was back.
