Third persons POV

Jungkook couldn't sleep. His body was wracked with nerves as he watched Yoongi's chest silently rise and fall as he slept soundly next to him. He was still asleep, after the whole ordeal at the hospital. The nurse must have given him something strong, to make him sleep this deeply. At least Yoongi was finally getting some rest, Jungkook thought as he checked his phone for the thousandth time to see if there was any text or call from Chanyeol.

He had no idea how Mrs Min was doing in her surgery, and that terrified him. He was so glad that Yoongi was sleeping through it. Jungkook didn't even want to know what would be going through his boyfriend's mind if he was awake right now. He'd probably drive himself mad waiting for his mother to finish surgery.

Chanyeol's words echoed in his mind.

"...it's uncommon for patients to... To have a successful surgery."

He prayed that Mrs Min would be able to pull through. For her sake, but also for the sake of her son. What would Yoongi do if she was gone? He was already so, so fragile while his mother was in intensive care. If she... Died...

Jungkook didn't even want to think how Yoongi would react.

He shook his head, as if it would clear the dark thoughts circling through his mind. It didn't though.

"C'mon Jungkook, you need to sleep." He spoke softly to himself and lay his he'd down on the pillow next to Yoongi. He turned his head to look at his slumbering boyfriend. He looked exhausted, his eyes were swollen from when he had been crying, and his cheekbones were so prominent now, as he had barely eaten the whole time they'd spent at the hospital. He hated seeing his love wasting away like this, and felt a tear slip down his cheek.

"Please, God... Fate... I don't know... Anyone out there who's listening," Jungkook began, his voice coming out in a broken whisper. "please... Please save Yoongi's mother. Please don't let her die."

He looked at Yoongi once more with blurry, tear-filled eyes, and planted a small but lingering kiss on his sunken cheek.

"I love you so much Yoongi." Jungkook sobbed, bringing his knees up to his chest. "I

d-don't want you t-to hurt anymore."

Jungkook cried himself to sleep that night, as Yoongi slept soundly beside him.

——————

Jungkook was awoken the next morning from warm bed covers being ripped off of him. He rubbed his eyes, that were still ridden with sleep, and tried to process what was going on while still waking up.

When his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw Yoongi standing at the edge of the bed. He looked different than usual, his facial expression depicted with something Jungkook hadn't ever seen before, except maybe in the hospital the previous day.

"Why the fuck are we at home?" Yoongi spat out as Jungkook sat up in the bed, looking confused. Jungkook furrowed his brow, he didn't understand what was happening. "Jungkook! I said why are we at home?!"
