Third persons POV
The car ride to the hospital had to be one of the most awkward encounters Jungkook had experienced. Neither one said a word to each other the entire drive, the only sound was the hum of the car engine and the soft music from the stereo.
Jungkook hadn't noticed until he stepped outside of Jin's house, but it was raining. He traced his fingers over the rolling droplets that fell across the car window, until they flew off, concentrating on them rather than Yoongi.
It was strange to think that only weeks ago, car rides would be filled with laughter and warmth. Yoongi would hold Jungkook's hand with one hand, the other on the wheel, and Jungkook would sing softly to the words of songs he knew.
Isn't it funny how quickly things could change.
Only, Jungkook wasn't laughing...
When they arrived, Jungkook got out first, swinging his bag over his shoulder and shutting the door swiftly. He made his way to the hospitals entrance, not bothering to wait for Yoongi who had to run after him to catch up.
"Ya!" Yoongi shouted as he caught up. Jungkook sighed, and slowed down so Yoongi could catch his breath. They walked through the parking lot together, again surrounded by a heavy silence.
"Why won't you say anything?" Yoongi blurted out, without thinking. Jungkook stopped just before they reached the door, and for the first time that night, looked Yoongi right in the eyes. He sighed, and Yoongi stared at him; eyes dancing with desperation.
"Because I have nothing left to say...." He replied. Yoongi's eyes crinkled as he physically winced at Jungkook's response, and Jungkook felt his heart twinge. Even now, he hated Yoongi looking upset. "Lets just go find Chanyeol, and see your mother, hm?"
Yoongi let out a sigh, and nodded. They walked through the air-conditioned halls, that smelt of cleaning product mixed with hospital food, until they reached the recovery ward. Waiting at the reception was Dr Park, Chanyeol, who greeted them with a smile.
Jungkook felt his stomach drop when he noticed Chanyeol's purple coloured cheek, still bruised from Yoongi's outburst that time.
Yoongi looked paler than usual, the colour from his face draining as he saw the bruised doctor. He spluttered out dozens of rushed apologies at the giant, but Chanyeol just smiled and brushed it off.
"It's ok, I understand you weren't in your right mind back then."
Yoongi nodded. He hadn't been.
"It still doesn't make it right."
"Maybe not... But mistakes happen Yoongi..." Chanyeol said, his smile never wavering.
Yoongi nodded again. "Yeah... They do." He said, starring at Jungkook, "I wish I could take all of them back..."
Jungkook looked away, fiddling with the drawstring of his hoodie.
Way to make things awkward again Yoongi... He thought, not that the atmosphere was comfortable to begin with.
Jungkook sat in one of the dozens of plastic chairs, texting Jin about where he had gone, while Yoongi signed some paperwork. He could hear his heart beating through his ears, not only at the thought of seeing Mrs Min, but also because of a certain ashy-haired-boy standing at the reception's desk.
His emotions were all over the place. Why the hell did he give in so easily? Why did he follow Yoongi without a second thought?
He was right back at square one...
