Third Persons POV
The car drove over small puddles on the road, that was still wet from rain, and the skyline was beginning to light up.
The long night was over, and the sun was about to rise.
Jungkook hadn't slept yet, besides the two-or-so hours he managed to get on Jin's couch. But although his eyes were starting to feel heavy, he wasn't tired. He was so alert and concentrated on the boy beside him (and where they were going), that he couldn't fall asleep.
So much had happened in the last few hours, that it was hard to take it all in. Yoongi had called him, and driven him to see Mrs Min. She survived the surgery, and was recovering, and Yoongi had never looked happier. And now, Yoongi, his ex-boyfriend, was driving him to some unknown location to "apologise". And despite everything that had happened between them, Jungkook still found himself following along.
Maybe it was because he was tired. Maybe it was because he had nothing left to lose. Or maybe it was because he still craved any attention Yoongi gave him, even if it did make him feel guilty, for giving in to the boy who broke his heart.
"We're pretty much here." Yoongi's voice snapped him from his thoughts. It was raspy and sounded almost tired. He probably hadn't slept much either.
Through the windscreen, he could see white sand and long green grass, swaying in-time with the wind. In the distance, dark blue water, that surrounded the sand, lapped at it's surface, and small waves crashed onto the shore.
"The beach?" Jungkook spoke quietly. "We're going to the beach?"
Yoongi stayed silent, and pulled off the road, parking at the beaches entrance. He unclipped his seatbelt, and opened the door to get out. Jungkook was glued to his seat. This is where Yoongi wanted to go?
"You coming?" Yoongi spoke, and looked over at Jungkook from outside the car door. Jungkook opened his mouth to reply, then shut it, nodding instead. He didn't really know what to say, or how to react.
So he followed Yoongi silently out of the car. They walked through the long grass, and onto the white beach sand. It was cold between their toes, still cool from the night before.
They continued to walk in silence for a few minutes; letting the salty sea breeze blow softly against their faces, breathing in the nostalgic scenery from their beach trip.
It seemed so long ago since they were first here together...
They stopped, just before the long wooden pier, that looked out into the brightening horizon.
"We're here." Yoongi spoke quietly, turning around to Jungkook, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "Sorry it was such a long trip."
Jungkook shook his head. "It's ok, Yoongi. But why here?"
Yoongi sighed, and looked into Jungkook's eyes. His cheeks were tinted red from the cool October breeze, and he pulled his cardigan sleeves down, and over his hands.
"Today is a special day for me." Yoongi began, taking a deep breath before continuing. "My mother survived surgery, and she's cancer free. Which is the best news I have heard in so, so long. Hopefully now, she can start to live a normal life again. And hopefully, I can stop living each day in fear." His eyes watery, but he blinked the tears away before they fell.
"I thought you should know, I've started therapy. Like real therapy with regular appointments." He continued. "My anxiety has stopped me from doing so many things. And it's also made me do some things I really, really regret. Even breaking the heart of the boy that means the whole world to me."
