Third Persons POV
Yoongi wouldn't consider himself an 'expert', but he could admit that he did know a thing or two about love.
One thing that not many people know about Min Yoongi, was that he had a small obsession with romance novels. They were his absolute favourite thing to read, even though he would never admit that out loud. From the classics, like 'Pride and prejudice' and 'the Princess Bride', to the cringeworthy, sappy, melodramatic modern romances, like 'Twilight' (yes, 'Twilight'). You name it, Yoongi has probably read it.
And being friends with Kim Seokjin, his over-dramatic, extraverted (and incredibly gay) best friend, with a love for cinema (and cheesy chick flicks), it wasn't long before he was dragged into the deep dark hole of romantic movies as well. His weekends were usually spent curled up on the couch, most of the time with Jin seated next to him with a tub of ice cream, while a cheesy romantic comedy played on the television.
In fact, up until Jungkook came along, Yoongi was quite content with living out his romantic fantasies through novels and films. He didn't see the point of being in love, not knowing if the other would feel the same and risking the possibility of your heart being broken. He didn't understand the idea of falling in love, falling into the unknown, when you could easily just live life walking in a straight line, clear, calculated and simple.
Yoongi thought he knew all there was to know about love. And Yoongi thought that he would live that way forever. Quietly making his way though life, without letting love get in the way. Yoongi thought he would never let someone steal his heart, like he had read about in countless romantic novels.
Yoongi thought.
But Yoongi wasn't right.
Because then Jeon Jungkook came along and ruined everything.
He turned Yoongi's world upside down, the straight path Yoongi had walked his whole life turning into a winding road leading to God knows where. He had taken Yoongi's heart, right from his chest, and kept it, and Yoongi knew this every time he stared into the younger boys eyes. Jungkook made Yoongi feel like he was falling. Constantly falling, never quite knowing when he would stop, but not really caring because, Jungkook was the reason for it all.
And even though he thought he would know everything when it comes to love, nothing could have prepared him for how much he had fallen in love with Jungkook.
Yoongi had seen 'love' countless times in movies and read about it in a whole range of books, but everything was so different, and so strange and so wonderful when he was with Jungkook.
For Yoongi, time felt like time has flown by. It had been 7 months since he and Jungkook met, and almost months 2 months since they 'officially' started dating. And although they had only been together for a short time, Yoongi felt like when he was with Jungkook, he was complete.
Yoongi treasured many things about their relationship.
He treasured the quiet evenings, eating meals together and falling asleep in each others arms, even if they had their own beds, because all of a sudden it became so much easier to sleep if they were in each others embrace. He treasured the not so quiet evenings too, where their bodies grew hot, and faces turned red, and hands roamed each other, feeling the curves of each others bodies and the feel of each others skin under their hands, as if they were only just discovering the beauty of one-another for the first time.
Yoongi treasured the mornings, which were just as amazing, waking up earlier than the smaller boy just so he could see how beautiful he looked as he slept, lips slightly parted, cheeks pink (as always), and the sunlight from the opening in the curtains shining across his pale skin.
Yoongi treasured the small moments too. Like when they would study together, to try and subdue the stress of assignments and college. Or like when Yoongi got offered a job position at that small print office he had worked for once, as an assistant editor, and Jungkook had brought him a cake and blown up balloons to surprise him after he got home from his first shift. Or when they would meet up at lunch, and hold hands under the table as they ate, as if silently telling each other that they loved the one another.
Yoongi treasured Jungkook's presence. Having someone with you, who loved you and would care for you even if you were being a brat (like Yoongi quite often was). And Yoongi treasured the small arguments he and Jungkook would have over stupid things, that would usually result in a pouting Jungkook, and an 'I'm sorry' kiss to get the younger boy to smile again.
And most of all, Yoongi treasured Jungkook's patience. Like how Jungkook would hold Yoongi's hand if he started getting anxious. Or how Jungkook would hug him tight if he woke up after having a nightmare. Or how Jungkook would whisper sweet nothings into Yoongi's ear and stroke his hair when Yoongi would breakdown over his mother, or have an anxiety attack. He was so thankful that Jungkook stayed with him, even if he wasn't perfect and had problems that could probably never be fixed.
Yoongi treasured Jungkook.
And he loved Jungkook. And no romance novel, or cheesy chick-flick came close to the love story that was blossoming between him and the raven haired boy. And although they were both extremely awkward, and Yoongi had a few problems, and Jungkook was so shy yet so energy filled at the same time that it was hard to keep up, Yoongi thought they were perfect for each other.
And he couldn't wait to see how his own love story would play out.
