Charles had just been shot in Cuba
And it's only been a week or so but he's not really accustomed to his new state yet, which means he's treating you and everyone like crap .

You weren't sure if you could put up with this, could you? Charles was the person you loved.
But did he still love you?
All these questioned ran through your head as you stood on your balcony at the Xavier mansion.
You saw Charles and Moira, she was pushing him along.
You knew what he was gonna do, and you honestly couldn't be more glad, truth be told you blamed Moira for Charles' condition.
But Charles doesn't see it like that. You are going start up this mansion as a school for young mutants to learn to control and use their mutations, together.
Hopefully he doesn't push you away.

It's true you were afraid of change, but you would do anything for Charles, you were even talking about marriage before all... this, mess.
Maybe he still feels the same way?

"Charles!" You called and he looked up and you with something in his eyes, something you haven't seen in a little while.
"Charles I'm not going to let you fade away from me, I'm not taking my love down, i love you Charles, nothing's going to change that." You said with tears in your eyes.
Charles grabbed your hand and pulled you down onto his chair.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry that I ever doubted your love for me, and how I've been treating you."
You smiled up at him, he wasn't lying just to get you off his back, he was being truly honest.
"Can you forgive this man and love this man enough to ever become his wife?" Charles looked up at you and you put your hand over your mouth 'is this a proposal' you thought to yourself
"Yes, yes it is Y/N" he caressed your hand.
"How many times to I have to tell you to stop reading my mind Charles." You lean your forehead against his

You get up and push him back into the mansion.

"I love it." You say giving him a quick kiss and further walking into the mansion.
