Warnings: emotions
Your mother knocked furiously on a door.
"Mother what am I doing here!"
"You need help!"
"For the last time mother in a grown adult!"
She dismissed you.
"It worked for you little brother and it can work for you!"
"Is that where we are. That school for gifted children, mom. I'm not a child!" The door opened and a tall man with glasses answered.
"Hello?"
"I'm Mrs L/n." Your mother rudely said bursting inside.
"Come in, is what your supposed to wait for." You grumbled pulling your arm away from her grip.
"Why are you here. May I ask?" The man said calmly.
"I don't know why I'm here honestly."
"She needs professor Xavier's help." Your mother pleaded.
"Professor?"
"Shall I get the professor for you?" The man asked
"There's no need-
"Yes, right away." your mother interrupted.
"Isn't this a school, for students, children?" You asked.
"Yes but can also help people, our age with our abilities." He said, he was rather quirky.
"Abilities." You rolled your eyes at your mother and to the tall man.
"That's her problem." Your mother whispered but not good enough.
"The devil possesses her body just like her little brother and allows her to creep into people's minds."
She whispered again.
The tall man nodded and offered you his hand,
"Hank McCoy, I'll get the Professor I won't be a moment."
He said and rushed off.
"What the hell mom!" You yelled.
"Your mutant honey and this man can help you."
"If this Professor helps so much then why havnt I seen my brother since he came back!"
Your mother just stood there crossing her arms.
A few moments later a man in a wheelchair came in side by side with Hank.
"So your Ms L/n daughter, what a pleasure to meet you. I'm Charles, Charles Xavier."
You shook his hand m.
"Y/n L/n. I assume your professor Xavier?"
"Yes, i am indeed." Charles smiled.
In the dim light, that smile seemed to light up the room.
"Charles." Hank interrupted the silence.
"Uh, sorry. What is the situation?"
He asked and just as you were about to say something your mother interrupted.
"She's possessed by the same devil that was in her little brother."
"Ah, yes." Charles looked to Hank almost like they were the crazy ones.
"Don't you worry ms L/n. We'll take good care of Her." Charles signalled hank to escort her out.
"Come with me, do you have any personal belongings?" Charles rolled off into the shadowed halls.
"Right here." You tapped your bag and followed slowly.
Charles lead you to a lift and the silence grew.
"We are extremely full at the moment so the only available room is my conjoined study."
"I wouldn't want to intrude-"
"Your not intruding your a guest." Charles laughed and exited the lift leading you to his study.
"The bedroom is right through there and my rooms right next door if you need anything."
"I still have questions."
"In the morning your too tired to talk."
How did this man know that, did you really look that dreary.
"Alright." You sighed.
"Goodnight y/n."
You decided he was right and without a second thought you collapsed on the soft sheets.
Running
Falling
Pain
Drowning
You woke up in shock, you looked down at your shaking body.
Nightmares
This was the one thing you couldn't ever shake.
You could shake off the images, ignore the voices but the nightmares had a way of haunting you.
You looked towards the window.
Into the moonless night.
Could this man be your saviour, or pull you down to the depths of your darkest nightmares.
Images started to flash in your head but, you blocked them out. You got up to get a drink and you slid back into bed into a dreamless sleep."Morning, love." A kind voice awoke you from your slumber.
"Morning.." you said groggily
"Tea?" Charles set a cup down on the bedside table.
"Got anything stronger?" You lifted yourself up onto your elbows.
"I'm afraid not." He laughed
You looked at him confused.
"Come on get up and get dressed meet me in the courtyard." He smirked as he left the room.
You got dressed and took the stairs down to the main entrance and walked through the same doors you entered through last night in the cold.
You saw Charles waiting for you under the shade of what appeared to be a willow tree.
"Let's take a walk."
"Do you need me to push you along?" You asked looking towards his chair.
"No I've got it."
You continued down the green, shady path.
You couldn't help but stare at his beautifully formed face and body, despite the wheelchair he still seemed healthy and well.
"Your a mutant."
"Excuse me?" You asked surprised
"Your a telepath am I correct?"
"Uh.. I don't-"
"Voices and images fill your head, but they aren't yours, their other peoples, yes?" He stopped, looking towards you.
You were confused but somehow you knew what he was saying was true.
"Sit." Charles gestured to the chair underneath a large tree overviewing the pond.
'You have no need to be afraid here, when did this start.' He said inside you head and at that point you knew you weren't crazy.
You told him how it started but you still held back.
You talked and somehow he made your anxiety disappear.
"Don't these things manefest at early years, like mutate and that." You asked.
"It's actually quite normal for it to kick in at older ages. Some mutations do form early, such as myself I was only a child when I started hearing everyone's thoughts." He smiled and it warmed your heart.
You continued talking and the day soon faded away.
And once again he was closing the door to the study and saying goodnight.Despite the school setting this place was like something from a book you'd always wanted to explore.
You continued lessons with Charles discovering your abilities and strengths and weaknesses.
But always loosing focus once Charles started talking. His voice like music that would relax your body.
The signs were there, from you and him but, is it a good idea to accept those feelings?
You had stayed for 3 weeks and already showing signs of improvement.
But the nightmares kept coming. Every night."So these Nightmares." Charles' voice interrupted your thinking.
"What?" You said nervously chopping strawberries.
"You think I didn't notice your nightmares when you first came? You've been here almost a month and you still haven't talked to me about these nightmares."
"That's because it's none of your business." You snapped.
"For an adult you have a particularly snappy attitude."
You laughed at his remark.
"Why do you care." You stopped your chopping and wiped your hands clean, leaning on the kitchen bench.
"Because I know it isn't easy, I know the world you live in." He said as he rolled closer.
"And-" you smirked
"There is no and." He blushed.
"Your forgetting something, I'm not a child. I know human emotions, and your eyes linger on me at least 20 times a day. You blush constantly around me and do I need to go on."
You chucked a cloth at him and continued chopping.
"What do you want me to say?" He asked looking to the ground.
You laughed then realised he was being serious.
"Do you want me to admit to my feelings of attraction for you." He chuckled.
"If you want."
'Will you hold me' your mind spilled out and Charles looked confused.
"Sorry just a thought about something, I need to go.." you rushed off not only embarrassed but scared. You avoided Charles the rest of the day and it eventually came to the time you could not avoid.
Charles knocked on your door and said goodnight like always and left.
Better than you expected.
And you went to sleep as always.Sobs awoke Charles from his sleep, he listened carefully and immediately knew those sobs belonged to you.
He slipped out of bed into his wheelchair and made his way into your room.
He opened the door slowly and saw nothing.
Charles rolled up to your beside and saw you cradling in bed.
Your tear stained cheeks glistened in the moonlight.
Your skin coated in a light sweat your hair messy and un-directional.
"Y/n." he whispered softly
You silent cries turned into loud sobs as you felt his hand glide against yours. He stayed while you cried and listened to every single sob and dried every single tear.
He propped himself up onto your bed
"Will you hold me?" you asked looking out the window.
He pulled you in tight.
"Of course." he muffled into your hair.
And at his embrace all your fears dispersed.
Your tears dried.
You started to tell him about your nightmares, dreams, your past, your fear for the future and all he did was sooth you.You looked over to the clock and it was 3am.
'Im sorry-'
"I love you." Charles said looking down at you.
You stared up at him silent.
"I love you, all your imperfections, all your fears... I love you." He said softly.
"I know.. I do too." You whispered and he kissed you on the forehead pulling you into his embrace once more.A/n: so sorry guys, Wattpad has been hating on me for a while not letting me post stories.
