Chapter 37: Robin

"An' that's how we's ended up here." Charles smiled and you gave a quiet purr. The couple that had taken you in for a moment were nice enough, and Charles' wife, Janin, had been telling you stories from when she'd been pregnant. It was nice.

But you still wanted to put on your fur, and run through the streets until you found Luffy. Being away from him for this long was starting to make you feel nervous.

"It was very nice to meet you," you said awkwardly. "But I really must be going. This baby's father is going to wonder where I am. He gets confused without me, you see."

Janin gave your hand a small pat. "We understand, dear, but shouldn't ya wait 'till them awful pirates get gone? They done gone and shot Mr. Iceberg, ya know."

You shook your head. "No. No we didn't. We liked the Ice-guy."

"We?"

They looked at you and you blushed. "W-Well, I- I'm just- You see-"

"I'd say it's alright." Charles nodded his head. "Iffin you'd meant us harm, you'd already gone and done it."

You shifted, looking down at your hands. "I wouldn't ever hurt an innocent person without reason. None of us would."

"But that girl, Nico Robean. She's the one that did it."

Your head whipped around and you looked at Janin with horror. "Robin?! They think Robin did this? No! She's not like that! She..."

Charles laid a hand on your arm. "Calm down, sugar. Ain't no one in this house sayin' nothin' like that. Now you just settle down here and take a deep breath."

You forced your tail fur to lay flat, letting out a dejected whimper. "We didn't... We didn't do anything..."

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and Janin went to answer it. You pricked your ears, trying to hear what was going on at the front door. A familiar voice reached your ears and you leapt forward, dashing to the front door and tackling Luffy to the ground.

"Shishishi! Hi, (Y/N)!"

"Luffy!!"

Luffy wrapped his arms around you three or four times, burying his face in your hair. "I missed you! Where'd you go?"

"I missed you too!" You touched your nose to his, then kissed him and he held you tighter. "These people took care of me for a bit."

Luffy let you go and got up, pulling you to your feet. He bowed to Janin. "Thank you for taking care of my wife. She's a handful."

You knocked Luffy in the back of the head and Janin laughed. Charles looked over his wife's shoulder and grinned. "I take it this is the fella?" He walked forward and put his big hands on Luffy's shoulders. "You take care 'o that girl, ya hear?"

Luffy nodded. "Yessir."

You laughed, walking forward to hug Luffy tight.

Sanji gave a small mewl of distress as the Sea Train roared out of the station, Robin inside. 'Robin-chwan is being taken to Enies Lobby! I have to get the others!'

Zolo sighed. He was lost. Stuck upside down in a smokestack. What a wonderful world.
