"Sunday morning rain is falling. Shed some cover share some skin."

Oh my goodness. My alarm. I quickly got out of bed and crossed the room to where my iPhone dock was. I turned off the alarm and checked the time. 10:00... At least it was a Sunday and not a school day. I purposely set "Sunday Morning" as my alarm for Sunday so that I'll always know what day it is when I wake up. Weird, I know. But it works.

"Rebecca why the heck aren't you ready yet? Its time to go visit your father!" My mom poked her head into my messy room. Her hair was perfectly permed and her eyes were in heavy makeup.

"Okay, I'll be ready in 5 minutes." I yelled back at her.

"You better be. Or else you're staying here for the rest of the day!" She screamed before slamming my door shut and descending the stairs. My mother and father were divorced, and my mother gained custody of me. My parents both agreed that my dad wouldn't have the time to take care of me, so off to mom I went. Even though my dad isn't legally obligated to, I still get to see him. But it's only as a privilege that my mother will be more than happy to take away if I mess up. Like I usually do.

After I finished brushing my teeth I threw on leggings and my favorite black sweater. I quickly brushed my hair, grabbed my bag, and dashed down the stairs.

"Come on let's go!" My mom rushes me, again. I pulled on my favorite Keds and hopped in the backseat of my mom's car. It took about a thirty minute ride to get to my father's mansion. As I had mentioned earlier. And yes, he was rich.

We pulled up in front of the gates of the mansion, and my mom parked the car next to the manicured hedges. "Get a ride home from that blonde kid okay? See you at home. I don't care what time you come home, just be ready for school tomorrow." She stopped talking, so I took that as my cue to open the car door.

"Bye mom." I muttered as I slammed the car door shut. She drove away and I watched as the back of her shiny blue car left my view.

"We'll you're here early. Couldn't wait to see me?" I instantly smiled. I recognized that voice from anywhere. I turned around to see my best friend, a crazy green eyed blonde.

"Hey Damian. Are you gonna let me in?" I eyed the gate that separated us.

"Only if you say please..." Blargh. Sometimes he really irritated me.

"Pretty please..." I gave him my best puppy eyes. If I were with anyone else I would never act like this, but Damian can see through all my barriers so I don't see a point in even trying to be someone I'm not.

"Okay, okay. Stop pouting I can't take it anymore." He unlocked the electronic gate and ran outside to meet me. "Come on." He yelled as he pulled me inside. As soon as he shut the gate, he hugged me and stroked my hair. "How's life Beaks?" I mentally cringed at his nickname for me as he put his hands on my cheeks and looked into my eyes. I smirked and pushed him away.

"Let's go inside the 'house' first. I want to see my dad." I grabbed his hand and we walked the long pathway to the front porch. Damian has been my best friend since preschool. As kids I would always invite him over, and my dad really liked him. Even now he calls Damian "the son he always wanted." Personally, I don't take offense, because I love Damian too. Woah. But not like that.

Anyways, as soon as we started high school, Damian has been working for my dad on weekends at the mansion, so that's why he was here this morning. After my parents divorce, however, I've been going to a different school and I don't see him as often, which sucks.

"Hey Beaks... I'll race you to the front door." Damian challenged. I looked up at him and smirked.

"What do I get if I win?" I questioned.
