"WHAT! Oh my freaking gosh Jacob you have got to be kidding me!" I yelled.

After eating some leftover pasta from the fridge, we decided to play mariokart on our DSes. It had actually been a long time since I'd played with it, and I was happy when I realized that Jacob still held onto mine after I had left it at his house a couple months ago.

I looked at Jacob in astonishment as he snickered at his win. Just before the finish line he bumped into me, causing my kart to veer off and allowing him to pass right by me and win the freaking race.

"Jacob!!! I demand a freaking rematch that was not fair! Hell, that was the stupidest thing I've ever seen." When all he did was continue laughing, I whined some more. "Jacob come on!! That was total BS! I demand a rematch!"

I finally stopped shouting when Jacob grabbed the DS out of my hands and placed it on the coffee table. He then took both if my hands in his. What the hell was he doing.

"Okay," He whispered, "I'll give you a rematch if... You tell me who was the guy on the phone that made you upset."

I quickly retracted my hands. "Hell no!" I yelled. I looked down at my hands when I saw Jacob's hurt expression. We both sat there in silence as I played with my charm bracelet. I glanced up at him to see that he was also looking at my bracelet. "It's okay," I said quietly, "I don't need a rematch. You won fair and square." I forced out a smile. Jacob raised his eyebrows but nodded. I felt bad that I couldn't open up to him and tell him what was going on... but I just couldn't.

"Okay, well, what do you want to do now?" Jacob asked as he leaned back on the couch.

"I.. um I." I stuttered,  trying to find the right words to say. Honestly I thought he would push further into finding out what was going on, but I guess I forgot that he wasn't the type of person to do that. "What...What do you want to do?" I finally got my voice to work properly.

"Let's watch a movie." Jacob suggested. I nodded my head.

"Sure, what are we going to watch?"

"Um... I got that movie that you said you wanted to watch last week. It's here somewhere..." He got up from the sofa and jogged upstairs to his room. I smiled to myself. Even I couldn't remember what I said last week, yet Jacob remembered and had even gotten it. Jacob was just too great of a friend.

While I waited for him to find it, I looked around and finally noticed how quiet it was. It was then that I realized his parents weren't home, and neither was his younger brother. I've been in his house for over an hour now, and all this time he'd been right beside me. Was he that distracting that I didn't realize where everyone else was?

When Jacob finally came back downstairs five minutes later, he had two blankets and a DVD case. He set the two fluffy pastel-colored blankets on the sofa and went to turn off the lights and put the movie into the DVD player. I took the blue blanket and surrounded myself with it while waiting for Jacob to come join me.

"What are we watching?"

Jacob smirked. "You don't remember?" He picked up the DVD case and showed me cover.

"Oh my gosh The Mortal Instruments!! Thank you so much Jacob!"

Jacob smiled. "Like I said, anything for you."

[2 minutes later]

After starting the movie, he took the seat next to me on the sofa and curled up in his own blanket. I smiled at how calm he looked. Before we could get any further into the movie however, I just had to ask.

"Um do you have any popcorn?" Jacob chuckled at my request and paused the movie to go make some. I sighed as I heard the microwaving popping the popcorn. What did I do to deserve this?
