Later that night, Josh received a text from a number he didn't know. At the time, he was sitting on his beanbag playing some hardcore Mario Kart, so he didn't have time to check the message.

After deciding that Peach was a cheater in Mario Kart (and giving up), Josh checked his phone.

*random number*: Hey, this is Tyler. Is this Joshua?

Joshua: Yeah! Hey Ty!:)

Ty: God bless I got the right number.

Joshua: Maybe I'm just an old guy with saggy legs.

Ty: Do you have "saggy legs", Joshua?

Josh loved the way Tyler called him Joshua. It is like how Josh called Tyler- Ty.

Joshua: Wanna find out, darling?:)

Ty: Someday Joshua, someday. I am very tired. See ya at the bookstore tomorrow.

Josh realized what had just happened between the two boys. Was it flirting? It definitely wasn't just casual friend chatting. Had Tyler said he wanted to see Josh's thighs? So many questions hung in Josh's head that it hurt his head.

The red-haired boy went into his bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. This usually calmed him. Just seeing a reflection seemed to center all of the craziness occurring in his mind. He looked at his hair, and saw the fading red. He needed a way to get Tyler to come on a date with him, maybe he could see if Tyler would help redye it? Melanie usually helped him redye it, but she was out of town for a week. Looks like Josh was going to be asking Tyler on a date.

All of the ways of asking rushed through his mind. All of them seemed so cliche, and cheesy. He couldn't just say "date me.", yet buying roses would be too much, he needed a laid back way.

He wanted so badly for Tyler to like him. Josh decided to pick some flowers before walking to work, and asking Tyler casually in the bookstore. Oh God he hoped that Tyler would say yes.

The thought of him saying no filled his head. Anxiety rushing into Josh's thoughts. He wanted to be with Tyler now. To hold him. To kiss his neck. To maybe even make love with him. Yet, the anxiety seemed more powerful of rejection.

After about a half hour of sitting on his bed and panicking, he decided to play Mario Kart all night, and be fueled by his red bull, and occasional coffee sips. He knew there would be defined circles under his eyes the next day, but that wouldn't matter. Maybe at this time tomorrow, Tyler will be in my arms. Josh thought hoping. He would want Ty to pick the color of his hair, because he wanted Tyler's opinion, because that seemed to be the only one that mattered the most of the time.

Eventually, the sun rose and so did the butterflies in Josh's stomach. He would actually be asking a boy on a date. Who knew what the new day had to hold, but Josh was giddy at what it could have in stock.

a filler.
