Tyler watched out of his living room window as Josh pulled up on his motorcycle. Josh had never mentioned owning a motorcycle to Tyler, so Tyler was taken aback by the sight. He'd never been on one and he didn't want to embarrass himself when he did try to ride it. Hopefully Josh would let Tyler drive.

Josh pulled off his helmet, revealing his faded red hair that still looked just as attractive. The two boys were basically matching outfits, at least neither of them had overdressed. Tyler had never dyed any hair, or even seen anybody do it so he was really just coming for the company of hanging with Josh.

Josh casually walked up Tyler's sidewalk and knocked three times on the door. If Tyler opened too quick Josh would easily know that he had been being watched, yet he was far too excited and he swung open the door.

"Joshua!!" Tyler squeaked out while taking Josh into a tight embrace.
"Hey Ty" Josh said as the pulled apart. He already wore a smile that was so wide it made Tyler melt.

The fact he could help someone be as happy as Josh seemed, it made Tyler euphoric. The fact that they may be riding a motorcycle hit Tyler again and the panic arrived back into his thoughts.

"Joshua... do I have to ride that?" Tyler said accidentally sounding disgusted as he pointed to the parked motorcycle.

Josh chuckled at Tyler's expression, wrinkled nose and squinted eyes. The moment seemed so perfect.
"Yes, darling. You are riding a motorcycle."

Tyler gasped as Josh took his hand and walked down the path before Tyler could argue any further.

"You'll love it." Josh grabbed a helmet for Tyler and put on his own. Tyler still looked terrified (no forest fic references ffs). Josh threw his leg over the bike like it was a natural movement, and Tyler still struggled to put on the helmet.

"Ty, you are such an innocent child," Josh laughed while Tyler repetitively tried to fit the helmet over his head.

"That's what your mom said before last night." Tyler said with a sassy tone.

The joke hit Josh in the chest. Tyler hadn't intentionally mentioned his dead mom. Josh hadn't even gotten into that conversation with him yet. It's not like you meet someone and that say "oh yeah my parents are dead. Haha date me,". Tyler noticed Josh's eyes go down through the helmet and he felt he had just said something wrong.

"Joshua, did I say something wrong? Don't hate me." Tyler was eager now to know what was going on in the red haired boys head.

"Oh it's not a big deal, just my parents died awhile ago in a car accident." Josh basically croaked out the sentence. He didn't want to cry on his first date with Tyler. Neither of them had meant to create the emotional tension, yet it was hanging in the air they breathed.

Tyler no longer knew what to say, he only knew the easiest thing to do was to hug him. So Tyler took him into a tight hold in his arms. Josh followed the action and they sat there in a pleasant silence. The conversation didn't need to go any farther. They were only going on their first date, they didn't need to know each other's life story right away. Tyler was still arguing with himself about his sexuality. How would he tell his parents? He wished he had siblings, that would possibly help with the loneliness Tyler felt often.

"How's about we get going to buy me some hair dye?" Josh sounded normal once again, so Tyler assumed everything was okay once more.

Tyler nodded, and finally was able to slip on the motorcycle helmet.

Josh sat in the front, obviously, because if Tyler were to drive a motorcycle he would literally have a seizure. Tyler slid his legs over the back, and had no idea where to put his arms. Josh turned his torso back to face him and grabbed Tyler's arms and wrapped them around Josh's waist.

Tyler blushed at the intimacy of the new movement. It felt cozy with his head resting on Joshua's back and his arms around his waist. Josh smiled without Tyler being able to see.

It was as if there was a wall between the two of them that they repetitively tried to break down through these simple intimate moments, but both of them were far too scared to actually break down the entire wall. Progress was being made.

Josh drove across town to the Walmart. Tyler actually loved riding the motorcycle. It was adrenaline rushing. The wind all around you was almost therapeutic. Yet when he got off of the motorcycle, he was still so windswept.

The two boys carried in their helmets. When they were walking through the front doors, Josh wrapped his arm around Tyler's shoulder and looked into his eyes for approval. Tyler simply nodded his head, and then they continued walking.

Once to the hair section Josh was extremely indecisive on the color. He was considering just doing red again, maybe yellow, maybe blue. No color stood out to him like they usually do when he wants to dye his hair a new color. Tyler contently looked around, and didn't want to force Josh to pick a color yet he had one in mind.

Tyler got hungry eventually as Josh continues to argue with himself over colors, so Tyler begins to complain.

"J! I'm hungry!" Tyler whined, dragging out the y in hungry.

"Then how about you pick my color, and I will buy you some Oreos." Josh says now completely defeated and with a tone that was almost rude.

"Okay!" Tyler grinned widely and glanced one last time over all of the colors. Josh crossed his arms expecting Tyler to be just as indecisive as he was. Almost immediately, Tyler's eyes lit up when they caught a color.

"You should totally do a pastel pink shade joshie! Pretty pretty please!" Tyler said batting his eyelashes at Josh.

"You. Are. A. Child." Josh said grabbing the pink hair dye. Hopefully it looks okay.

A/N: Hopefully this wasn't thAT bad. Have a lovely day/night.
