School never made Tyler feel good. It gave him crippling anxiety for a numerous amount of reasons that he could easily list off. Leaving Josh in the car hurt Tyler. His heart tugged harder than it ever had before toward something. Tyler moved with his mind, and not his heart in this moment. Which was rare.
Joshua on the other hand, was in the same pain. He didn't want to see anyone else in the world. Even if it was the kind Melanie that he worked with, or just an angry customer. He just wanted Tyler. But life pulled them apart, as it does to many people in other lives.
Once Joshua arrived to his work about three hours late, so he only had four more hours on his shift. He rushed in trying to avoid making too loud of noise, so that maybe Melanie wouldn't notice he was three hours late.
Melanie had finally noticed Josh had finally arrived once he was sitting at the counter, waiting for customers that would most likely never come.
"Josh, what the fuck?! You can't just show up like that." Melanie had never used this tone toward Josh, and it made him tense up to the sound of hearing a friend speak with such a hateful sound towards him.
"I have a reason, I swear!" Josh raised his hands to basically surrender.
"I'd like to hear." Melanie pulled the second stool from under the counter out, and set her elbows on the table. She was actually interested in hearing the reason Josh has been showing up the past few days. Especially by three hours today.
"It's a long story." Josh gave her pleading eyes, not wanting to rant about boy problems or more importantly possibly love.
"We have time... I mean clearly there's not much taking our time." Melanie gestured to the empty bookstore that was sitting in front of them. Josh sighed defeated, and began to attempt to show his happiness in simple words when he talked about Tyler.
"Well, that guy that had rushed out a little bit ago. The one who I told you about. He and I are... boyfriends! He came over last night a dyed my hair with me, and spent the night. We hadn't planned on having a sleepover, but he feel asleep watching Rapunzel and he was too adorable to wake up." He rambled on more about the jumbled thoughts that he had, praising Tyler's existence. And Melanie listened the entire way through. She watched the way Josh's eyes lit up at certain parts of the telling's.
When he finally finished, Melanie had totally forgot about being pissed at him a few minutes before. She smiled at him and squealed. Her little boy was growing up. Josh's cheeks flushed red he had just poured his heart out. It felt so good, though. To appreciate Tyler in another way than just to his face.
Melanie had left at the end of her shift shortly after Josh had told the whole story, so Josh sat alone reading a magazine at the coffee shop counter. Time passed quickly, when he realized it was around the time Tyler should be coming- 4:00. His heart sped up and he threw the magazine back in it's basket that was on the long cafe counter. He had totally spaced his phone was still in the lounge, where the workers can take breaks.
He rushed back into there to see a buzzing phone with the name Love on the screen. He had never answered a call so quickly.
"J-Josh. I'm in front of the boo-bookstore." Tyler spoke, struggling through sobs. Josh hung up the phone and sprinted outside, and swung open the car door of which Tyler was sitting inside.
"Ty, what's goin' on." Josh was in the passenger seat, leaning over holding Tyler as he choked out sobs in his lap. Josh's heart ached. He couldn't cry because Tyler was. He had to remain strong for Ty.
"They're telling me to go back. Don't let me leave, Joshua." Tyler shook, and moaned out more sobs. His spit was going everywhere from crying with an open mouth.
"Tyler who and where? I want to help, but you need to allow me." Josh kissed Tyler's cheek gently multiple times, and Tyler was slowly coming out of his hysterics.
"You'll think I'm crazy, Josh, it's okay. Just forget about it." Tyler sat back up wiping away his wet cheekbones. Josh gripped Tyler's hand.
"Tyler, love. I will never think you're crazy. The only way I can help or at least try is communicating." Tyler looked up at Josh with puppy dog eyes.
"Can I gather myself first? I will tell you, but I need to prepare." Tyler gave the best smile he could to Josh, and Josh understood. Sometimes people aren't ready to talk about it yet. And talking about it too early could be damaging.
"Of course." Josh leaned over and kissed Tyler to reassure him. Physical touch seemed to speak so much more these days to both Josh and Tyler. Neither of the boys pulled back, though. They both continued the dance with their two lips. Josh grabbing Tyler's top lip, and Tyler grabbing Josh's bottom lip, switching every so often. While kissing, Tyler climbed over into Josh's lap. Wrapping his legs around Joshua, and arms into his pastel pink hair. Soon, the kiss progressed and Tyler was reaching under Joshua's shirt. Everything would've kept going if Josh hadn't spoken the thought they were both having.
"We're going too fast." Josh lifted his head from the kiss.
Neither of them were angry though. They understood the pace they wanted to go. Tyler smiled and kissed Josh's face several more times before climbing back into the driver seat.
Josh placed his hand on Tyler's thigh, "How was school, love?"
"That discussion will come tomorrow, Joshua. Now. My parents think I have some giant English project I'm doing with my friend Brendon, soo that means nights away from home. May they be spent at your humble abode?" Tyler said smiling.
Josh was ecstatic. They were going to be able to stay together. Not forever, yet. But it was something. Yet, Joshua still wondered about what happen to make Tyler so upset today. The next day would hold answers.
