"I love your outfit! The little mermaid is my favorite Disney princess." I turned my head and focused my attention on someone else who admired my costume picked out by a mischievous Travis.

I smiled politely at the blonde teenage girl with a revealing white loose tank top and short denim shorts.

"Thank you."

"Was it your goal to look like her?" She continued.

"Actually, Travis picked out my clothes for today."

Travis was buying more of the delicious ice cream from the shop in town. The underwater themed jewelry shop caught my attention a few stores down and I've been staring at the display case for a few minutes now.

I had multiple girls complimenting my clothes today. It gave me unwanted attention but it was still nice that people gave others compliments.

"Travis?" She shifted on her feet, resting her weight on one foot. "Miller?" I nodded. "Is he here?"

"He's getting us ice cream."

"Well, I'm Stephanie Bishop. Melody's sisters." She held out her hand and I placed mine in hers, going with the up and down motion.

"I'm Evanjaline.... Moon." I said, tacking on my not-so-official last name.

"Pretty name!"

"Thank you."

"So, how do you know Travis?" She came to stand next to me, our eyes moving back to the blue dolphin pendant that hung on a silver chain inside the store.

"He-"

"Steph?" We both turned at the sound of Travis' voice.

"Hey, stranger!" She shouts. "Melody told me she saw you yesterday."

"Yeah..." By the sound of his voice, I could tell he was fighting the urge to roll his eyes. "So, you two met?" He asked, looking between the two girls who stood in front of him.

"Yeah. Her outfit caught my attention. She said you picked it out for her?" Steph says, questioningly.

"It's an inside joke." He took a step closer and handed me an ice cream cone, napkins thick around it.

"Still a gentleman as always." Steph admired.

"I guess your sister didn't like gentlemen's."

"Yeah, she went for the douche-canoe of a guy. Can't believe you were ever friends with Chance." Stephanie made a sour face.

"Hey, he was a good person." Travis defended himself. He met my curious eyes. "Evanjaline, Steph is one of my good friends. When Melody and I were together, she was always so nice. Even now."

I smiled at the blonde girl who wore a proud expression on her face. "It's nice to meet you." I say.

"You as well." Her tone was genuine. "But, I have to go! Don't wanna be late for my date."

"You're still with Matthew?" Travis asked, licking his vanilla ice cream.

"Yup." She smiled, popping the 'p'. "A month from today makes one year! Eeeep!" She kisses Travis' cheek and hugged me, before walking away.

"She seems nice." I stated.

"She really is." He started walking down the sidewalk, past a few stores. I jogged to keep up with his pace.

"In a hurry?" I ask him.

"Hmmm? Oh, sorry. I've always walked fast. Long legs, ya know?"

I let out a breathily chuckle, grateful when he started to slow to a pace I was more comfortable with.
