I cannot believe that this happened. Why did Harry have to be wet? If he wasn't, we could've talked to each other.

I watched as the five guys left Travis, his face turned down towards the sand.

What did they say?

It was still early in the day and I don't think it passed even three turtles, yet. Or, in other words, 3:30.

Travis' eyes scanned over the waters surface and, since I was still hidden, he didn't see me. His interest spiked up and he jogged back to where the water barely made it up the sand. He peeled his shirt off quickly, tossing it to the sand, then bent down to grab his new board, a huge smile lighting up his slightly bruised face.

He only had a tiny split to his lip, nothing major but sharks are nippy and nasty little fish poops, so Travis needs to clean that blood from him. Including Chance's on his knuckles.

I looked down at the back of my hand that gripped the rock. I didn't have time to clean the evidence of hitting Chance, but it was already washed away.

I saw Travis look down at his hands, his smile barely upon his face anymore. He mouthed a curse word and walked to the nearest umbrella. He smiled politely and talked to a stranger. Or, stranger to me but I don't know if she was to him.

A blonde older lady watching her kid play in the shallow waters was smiling in response to his words, then she nodded, peeking at her child once more before turning to a bag and pulling out a bottle of water.

Travis dipped his head slightly in thank you and walked away, pouring the water over one hand then the other, wiping at the dried blood, then washing it away again.

He dumped the rest on his head, shaking out his hair before laying the empty bottle on his shirt and picking up his board again. With it tucked under his arm, he set out for the water.

I rolled my eyes. Of course he'll want to try out his new board, no matter how serious the situation at hand was. He ran at the water until running was more difficult. He jumped at a wave, the board under him and worked his arms to paddle out to the bigger surf.

I slipped back into the water, my hair fanning out behind me as I made my way to Travis, my tail flicking powerfully. Before he could make it too far out, I jolted myself up with my hands in front of me and pushed on one side of his board to knock him side-wards and into the water.

His head came back up, arms hung over the board as he coughed up water he gasped in. My head rose from the surface slowly, eyes finding his.

"Evanjaline, what the hell was that for?!"

"Fun, of course." I said simply, watching him rise himself back on to his board.

"How nice of you." Travis playfully rolled his eyes, sarcasm thick in his tone. "I thought you were a shark!"

"I'm worse." He nodded in agreement. "So, what did Harry say?"

"Well, I tried to tell him you were the one he was searching for-"

"And?!" I moved closer until my fingers clutched at the side of the surfboard.

"Lemme finish! Aaaaaand.... He didn't believe me because almost every girl on the beach tried to convince him that they were his rescue. He went for a swim to look for you, came back out and grabbed you. Guess the fight must've drew his attention back to shore."

"He doesn't believe that I saved him?" Out of the excitement I felt just moments before, I rose myself out of the water only slightly, until the water was just under my breasts, the board leaning a bit to one side. Now, the water reached my neck, excitement wearing off and the smile on my face fell as I sunk back into the ocean.
