My head felt as if it was floating.
I couldn't feel the weight of it until I felt the weight of my body.
I was laying down on something I wasn't familiar with. It felt more like a cushion mattress than the familiar bed I've grown used to.
My voice softly came out in a groan as I reluctantly sat up, my hand pushing my hair away from my face. I blinked rapidly until my eyes adjusted to the stream of light shining through the thin curtains of this room space. I looked at what I now sat upon and it was a couch. Or a bed? A couch with a bed that came out of it.
But I wasn't at Travis' home. Nothing looked familiar, so where am I?
I peered around the space, it being empty of any other living for aside from me. The room is huge and the television that was hung up on the wall was almost just as big as the wall itself.
Opposite of the television wall, was stairs leading up to another platform of this house. I could see part of the open space up there from where I sat. The room was big and light.
I threw the warm thin covers off of me, seeing I'm not even wearing the dress I had worn last night-
Wait, last night- I remember that I was having a panic attack and I don't remember much after that, but I do remember Harry's kiss.
And the fact that it had started raining.
Questions and worry bubbled in me; did they take me through the rain? Do they now know I'm a mermaid? Did they leave me with some stranger because of my secret, and I'm at the strangers home now? Where am I? Where is my dress? Who changed me?
Am I alone in this place?
My mind started to clear. Asking myself if I was alone here was stupid, because sizzling and popping was heard in another room, the smell of something cooking was faint in the air. If I would've calmed down from the start, I wouldn't have freaked myself out so much.
I walked the cold wooden floor after getting to my feet and tried to follow the smell and sound.
Voices were heard softly talking, but there wasn't much conversation at all. As I got closer, something colorfully familiar was folded up on the side stand in front of me.
My dress.
But I didn't pick it up. I left it there, more curious to see who I was here with.
Peeking around the corner with just one eye, I saw faces I was relieved to see. Niall's blonde hair caught my attention first. Then Harry's tussled curls as he hovered, alone, over the stove.
Zayn, Liam, and Niall are on their phones at the dining room table, thumbs moving up and down on the screen. Louis' back was facing me as he was balancing his chair back on two legs, white ear buds plugged into his ears as he hummed along to a song he was obviously listening to. Harry's half naked body, adorned a flower-printed apron.
The time just to his left told me that it was eight in the morning.
"I ain't sayin' she's a gold diggah, but she ain't messin' with a broke-" Louis began to sing out loud, but everyone turned to him and whispered 'shut up!'
Their eyes looked up from him as he whispered his apology and I was now noticed. Louis curiously turned around when he realized their eyes weren't on him anymore, pulling his ear buds from his ears, he smiled.
"You're alive." Louis said.
"Yes, but what happened last night?" I asked, jumping right into it.
"We can discuss it over breakfast," Harry suggested, his body completely turned to face me. "Are you hungry?"
"No, but thank you." I told him, smiling softly.
