The guard that patrolled the beach was now escorting everyone out nicely, wishing everyone a wonderful night. We exited towards Travis' house, but once the man was nestled back into his small shack-like-work place, the top of his hat dipped down over his eyes, it wasn't very hard to sneak back through and end up on the opposite side of where we previously were, farther off behind the shack.
Niall tore his shirt from his body and began swimming again.
Travis' new jet ski was in its new home in the massive space of the garage under a clean white tarp. The trailer fit inside like a spaciously.
I watched as the sun slowly dipped towards the horizon of the waters surface and I felt a tear trickle down my cheek.
This is it.
Niall came running back out of the water five minutes after getting in.
"Seaweed is such a weird feeling. I'm done swimming." Niall says quietly.
Everyone was being quiet.
"Harry, can.... Can I talk to you?" I ask, my voice breaking on every other word.
He took in my tear stained face and nodded quickly. I couldn't decide if I should just tell him or all of them. I don't know how much it'll be to ask Harry if he could keep my secret from the boys he has to see every day.
"I'd like to tell all of you, actually." I finally made up my mind. If being with Harry means that I'll have to spend most of my time with the four other band members of One Direction, then fine. They should all know and I don't want to hide in secret from the people I should trust and be honest with.
"I'm gonna go......for a swim." Travis said. "I'll be back."
"I'll let you know." I say to him while he stands and walks towards the water. I love how Travis never hovers, always thinking of privacy and I hope I will be able to be free on land and never be kept away from my friend.
"Good luck." He said to me, leaning down to kiss the top of my head. I smiled appreciatively at him before he began towards the water and swam away.
My attention turned back to the five boys who awaited my words. Brown, blue, and green eyes burned into mine.
"You guys know I've been hiding a secret." They all nod. "It's not completely mine to tell and I keep it because I don't know how you will react, but I found myself trusting each of you. And I think it's about time you knew. It's only been a week, but I want all of this to last for as long as it possibly can. Harry...." I took in a deep breath. "I can show you better than I can tell you. Just please, don't freak out."
"Oh, god." Louis mumbled.
I stood from my place on the sand and walked towards the water. I hesitated and turned my head towards the five boys who were watching me intently. I found my courage in Harry's features and I stepped into the ocean, the small waves lapping against my ankles. But I stepped out quickly, wanting to have them close when my tail appears. I made it half way back up the sand before I felt the familiar take of my scales on skin and I fell forward, hands catching me. My hair was automatically damp, moister coated my skin, sand grinding up against my scales as I elevated my upper body.
The sun had yet to sink down fully over the horizon and I dreaded the thought of what this silence brought.
I needed to get this over with, it seems rushed, but I needed this done.
"Please, Harry, say something." I quietly pleaded, wondering what is going through his mind.
"I... I-I don't... What?" He stuttered, his hand running through his hair as he tried to collect his thoughts.
