It was a bold, immature move on my part but I loved the way his lips felt. They were soft and just the right amount of firm. I pressed myself further into him when I didn't feel him respond.
He stayed still... Did I make a mistake?
Suddenly it was like a shock wave went through him, his body responded immediately. Except. His response was to push me away.
"No." He mouthed to me.
So this is what embarrassment feels like.
"Let's clean the cut up." He said helping me inside.
"What happened to her now?" Austin sounded like he didn't care.
"Grant." Brad didn't say anything else.
"She probably deserved it." Austin snorted.
"Austin, you probably deserved losing a sibling!" I screamed. The pain was getting pretty close to unbearable. How could he be so insensitive?
"Lie down." Brad said pointing to the floor. I did.
"Bring the emergency kit." He said to Austin.
"No."
"I didn't ask, did I?"
Austin reluctantly brought him the box.
Brad sat down next to me and began cleaning the cut.
I winced. It hurt like a bitch. How could he say that I deserved this? What kind of a person does that?
"Apologize to him." Brad whispered.
"Why do you think that you can order us around?"
"Vi meant everything to him. He's angry. He didn't mean what he said and I'm sorry if he said anything that hurt you."
"I won't."
"Just do it for me. He needs to know that you didn't actually mean that."
"What if I did?"
"Izabelle we're talking about a three year old kid! You've got a cut that can be fixed. He lost his baby sister." He was right.
"Austin?"
"I really don't want to hear it."
"I'm sorry."
"Congratulations Brad. She listens."
"You just bring out the worst in me."
"I think we'll stick to not being friends. I tried to understand you. I tried opening up to you. I tried helping you deal with your nightmares. Please do me a favor and forget that I told you about Violet."
"If that's what you want."
"Brad, we need to talk."
"Go on." Brad said. He was halfway through stitching the cut up.
"I found the anomaly in the time line."
"Is it related to the target?"
"The target is the cause."
"I'll look into it later."
"If Grant found her, he found us. Are you going to take care of that?"
"William Barrows. Look into him. That's where Grant is going next. I'll bring Diane in tomorrow, it's time to get that over with."
"The rest of them?"
"We don't need them."
"You're letting them go?"
"No. We've taken care of it." He paused and looked at me now. "Better?" He asked.
