"Austin?" I knocked on the door.

"Yeah?"

"I think we need to talk." I stood by the door waiting nervously.

He opened the door and I went to my bed.

"You okay?" He asked.

I shook my head. "I don't think I'm going to be okay for a while." I whispered.

"What's wrong?"

"When you said you just wanted to make me feel something what were you talking about?"

He sat next to me and held my hand. "It meant that I couldn't see the girl I adored, pretend to not care about anything. Izabelle I care about you. I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes but I want you to know that--that wasn't an act. I wanted to see you be a little human again-- I'm sorry I yelled at you-- I had no right to say all those things about--"

"But you were right-- I am a monster."

"Izabelle, if you remember clearly, not too long ago I was the mess that you are now and you helped me through it. I became a monster and you helped me deal with that-- and maybe that was all a lie but  you helped me get through that-- let me do the same for you?"

"But you forgot something Austin?"

"Tell me Princess."

"You forgot to tell me that you've been a monster much longer than that." I freed my hand from his. "You're a fucking liar Prince. You don't care about anyone but yourself! Much less me! You're a monster Austin! You've always been a fucking monster-- you won't even own up to your mistakes and that sickens me!" I let a tear slide down my cheek. It didn't matter anymore. He knew I was weak and tired.

What would be the point in trying to hide it?

"What are you talking about? Did Diane say something to you?"

"Nothing you need to hear about!" I got off my bed and walked out of the room.

"Izabelle, what did she say?" His eyes. How could I have not seen it? It was all his fault! All of this!

"Nothing!"

"Are you scared of her?"

"It's none of your business!" I cried.

"Yes it is. I care about you and if something's bothering you, it's bothering me--"

"Shut it Prince!"

He took a step towards me. "I don't know what gave you the impression that I don't care because I do and I think you already know that!"

"How do I know you weren't just trying to manipulate me! You're a monster-- just like me, and I tried to do that-- what's to say you won't?"

"I won't." He held my hands and rubbed circles on them. "I won't manipulate you or do anything to hurt you Princess, I wouldn't do that to you. I'll make sure I do my best not to yell at you--"

"Austin let go of me!" He let go of my fingers.

"Alright, look I'm here for you, okay? I'm here for human you and monster you." He nodded.

"Austin maybe if you stopped calling me a monster I'd stop feeling like one!"

"You're just trying to pick a fight. What did she say to you? Why are you so scared?"

"She said it's your fault!"

"W-What?"

"She said the gaps in my memory-- they're all your fault and you didn't have it in you to tell Brad that so you just let him believe that he fucked up!"
