Betrayal

Alec's POV
I ran as fast as I possibly could to somewhere far away but I didn't dare go to the Institute. Tears were falling and I felt I was being chased but that was probably due to my insecurity. "Hey! Nephilim, you're going in vampire territory," a voice called forcing me to turn around to face with a girl. I might be gay but even I have to admit she was beautiful with her black and red hair and green eyes. "Are you just going to stare at me or are you going to tell me why you've been crying?" She asked, gently. "I'm sorry but who are you?" I asked.
"Catarina Loss, warlock"
"I don't want to talk about it. I'm-"
"Alexander Lightwood, I know"
"How do you know-"
"Your boyfriend sent me. He's worried"
"I can't face him..."
"And why is that, my sweet Alexander?" A voice called out. "Magnus," I muttered hoping he wouldn't hear me. But of course, I failed since he came over giving me a hug while wiping my tears. "Alec, what happened?" Magnus asked, gently. I shook my head removing myself from his grip and ran. I didn't get very far as I suddenly appeared in Magnus's apartment with him on the couch. "I-I can't," I whispered. "Alec, please," Magnus said slowly coming up to me.
"I don't want to betray you, please!"
"What are you talking about?"
"I did something terrible. I don't want to hurt you, please stay away"
Magnus grabbed my wrists pulling me closer before giving me a short kiss. "You won't, please talk to me," Magnus whispered. "I-I killed my sister. I was forced. It was either that or take away your immortality which I could never do to you," I cried.
"Alec, everything's going to be okay"
"No. The clave found out and are going to sentence me to death"
"I'm not going to let that happen! You were forced, can't you just tell them?!"
"Magnus, there's no proof of me being threatened nor forced"
"Alec, please tell me this is all a prank"
"I-I can't. It's real..."

Three weeks later
Magnus's POV
I slammed my fists on the floor as I knew this was the day my Alexander was going to be hung today. A lot of people fought to change the punishment even his family but failed. "Magnus," Catarina whispered. "Why?! He was forced!" I screamed.
"There's nothing we can do now"
At the moment, Jace walked in my apartment. "Magnus, the clave is going to give Alec a trial. If he's guilty, he'll be hung tomorrow but if he's innocent, he'll be forced to move out of New York with you," Jace said. I glared at him as if not hearing him correctly. "Do you dare lie to the high warlock?!" I yelled.
"I'm not lying! I told the truth!"
After that, Jace ran out forcing Catarina and I to follow to witness the apparently trial. I looked around my surroundings and saw Alec in the center of the room who seemed terrified. A clave representative came to me and told me to go join him since he needed to become calm.

Alec's POV
My heart was beating and I was not calm. To be honest, I was terrified since there's no way I'd be found innocent because there's no proof. I saw a figure running towards me before being almost hugged to death. "Mags, you can let go now," I whispered. "I'm supposed to calm you down," Magnus answered.
"There's no point of you calming me since I'm going to be proven guilty anyways so-"
"Don't say that. Alec, you're going to be innocent"
"Mags, they don't have any proof"

Third person POV
"Alec Lightwood, did you or did you not kill your sister, Isabelle Lightwood?" A clave representative asked. "I did," Alec answered.
"Why did you?"
"I was forced"
"I see. And who forced you?"
"Sebastian Morgenstern"
"Do you have any idea why he would force you to do something like killing family?"
"Because he wanted to see me suffer knowing I killed family"
"We got some letters from Sebastian to Isabelle saying she should kill you. Do you confirm this?"
"Yes. I found them after her death"
"Alec Lightwood, we also found letters from Sebastian saying Izzy will die in the hands of her brother, Alec, due to forcing him to commit the crime. Because of these letters, you're innocent"
Alec smiled in relief while Magnus was squeezing his hand.

Alec's POV
"I told you that you'd be proven innocent," Magnus whispered. "Yeah, but where are we going to go?" I laughed.
"Japan!"
I shook my head kissing my warlock before being teleported to my new home.
