Separated Too Long

Magnus's POV
I sighed before knocking on the Institute hoping to surprise Alec and try to settle our relationship but I had no idea what was wrong. He hadn't been staying at my apartment for some time now. I glanced at my watch to know the time to only find out it was 2:30 in the morning. Oh well hopefully someone is still awake or not. The door opened to reveal a tired Alexander. "Magnus? What are you doing here?" Alec asked while yawning. "Did I wake you?" I asked.
"Actually no. I woke up to a nightmare and I came down to get something to drink until I heard the pounding"
"Can I come in? It's cold"
"Magnus Bane, high warlock of Brooklyn, is actually cold for once? Well since you're my boyfriend, come on in"
I smirked as I walked in stopping for a quick kiss on Alec's lips and grabbed his hand dragging him back to the kitchen. "The door, Mags," Alec giggled. With a snap of my fingers, the door slammed close and Alec smiled before kissing me softly on the cheek. "You've been at the Institute lately," I blurt out. "You don't know?" Alec asked.
"Don't know what?"
"Izzy was raped and Clary was taken. Since our parents aren't here, I have to be the one to take care of them. I thought I told you?"
"Oh! I think I was half asleep half awake at the time you probably told me"
Alec chuckled. "You're fine. Actually I'm glad you're here," Alec replied. "Oh?" I smirked.
"Stop smirking, it turns me on!"
"That's why I do it, darling"
"Stop with the pet names too! See, you made me change the subject!"
"And that's a bad thing? We're dating after all"
"We won't be if you stop joking"
"You're no fun! Kidding, love. Now tell me why are you glad I'm here?"
"Can you help me with Jace and Izzy? It's actually harder on your own"
I raised my eyebrows. "Do you really want me to help or are you just trying to spend more time with me?" I asked. "Both?" Alec asked.
"Fine, but you have to pay me"
"Mags! I'm not allowing you to give me a makeover again!"
"Fine. You have to allow me to take you shopping then and choose your clothes"
"Ugh, fine"
I smiled kissing his lips softly moving to his cheeks, nose, ears, forehead, hair, and neck. "Let's finish this in my bedroom," Alec whispered before things got too far. "At like 3 in the morning?" I smirked.
"No. Tonight after dinner"
"I thought so. Now I think we should go to bed to be ready to take care of your family"
Alec smiled before dragging me to his bedroom.

Alec's POV
"Alec! Alec!" Izzy screamed waking me up. I winced in pain causing Magnus to wake up and wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer. Izzy smirked. "By the angel, Izzy! What is it?" I asked resting my head on Magnus's chest. "I had a nightmare about the-" Izzy started but never completed since her tears started to fall. I removed myself from Magnus to comfort Izzy as Magnus followed doing a spell to make Izzy sleepy in a hope it won't cause another nightmare. This was going to be a while.
