Jace's POV
You could say everything shadowhunters fought for are all over now. No one laughs anymore and if they do it's because of their true love. Ever since my former parabatai became immortal, he has changed a lot that you barely could recognize him. From makeup to colorful clothes, he's totally a different person. And not to mention he's still struggling with the death of his sister and breakup which happened about 10-15 years ago. Magnus was his true love and he couldn't see that.Catarina's POV
"Maryse!" I exclaimed looking at her from the front door of the Institute. Magnus rolled his eyes. "Come in," Maryse said sadly.
"How is everyone?"
Maryse stayed quiet for some time before allowing tears to fall. "Are you alright?" Magnus asked, cautiously. "It's difficult to talk," was her reply. "Mom?" Jace asked. Maryse just shook her head and ran upstairs. "What happened here?" I asked, concerned. "The Institute isn't the same anymore and never will be," Jace sighed.
"What do you mean?"
"It's just quiet, way too quiet. Except if you're in a relationship which is not a lot of people"
"Jace?" Clary asked. "What is it, Clary?" Jace sighed.
"Maryse would like to talk to you"
"And why not the head of the Institute?"
"He hasn't left his room yet. He's still asleep but we all know the truth"
Jace sighed and walked out.Alec's POV
"Alec?" Clary asked, knocking. "Leave me alone!" I yelled.
"I just want-"
"I don't want to talk to you"
"Just-"
I opened the door in frustration. "I said go!" I growled making Clary wince. "Alec?" She asked calmly.
"I-"
"I get it, you don't want to talk to me. I'll get someone who you will talk to"
"He won't talk to me! We tried that million of times, remember?!"
"Then I'll have to force him!"
I sighed slamming the door behind me until I heard a knock. "I told you, leave me alone!" I yelled. "Guess you don't want to talk?" A familiar voice asked. Magnus. I sighed opening the door. "I thought you were Clary," I explained. "Clary?!" Magnus asked, surprised.
"What?"
"You hate Clary"
"Used to"
Magnus rolled his eyes and walked through my door. "Sure, just walk right in," I muttered closing my door. "So Jace told you?" I asked. "Jace told me nothing," Magnus replied.
"Clary? My mother?"
"One, no one told me anything. And two, what's with your attitude?"
"Oh, I don't know. The fact that you haven't been in the Institute for what 15+ years maybe? Or the fact that you're in my bedroom?"
Magnus raised his eyebrows. "And?" He asked. "So what are you doing here and in my room?" I demanded.
"I was called to stay here plus I-"
"Save it, Magnus. You never came when you were called here so tell me what changed?"
"Get rid of your attitude and maybe I'll tell you!"
Magnus growled before slamming the door behind him as he walked out furiously. I sighed and sat on my bed allowing tears to fall. I need Magnus to be mine but it will never happen. However, I can't love anyone else.
