Trence's POV

It's Taileen! She's here, right in front of me.

"Taileen, why so suddenly---"

"Don't question my decisions. Anyway, I just wanted to say good luck, since you and Rin will be performing on-stage and all. I don't want you to mess up Rin's hard work, that's all."

I smiled, "Alright. Thanks."

I turned away from her because my heart pounds so hard it hurts every time I look at her.

"So---"

When I looked at her again, she was gone.

Man, was she just an illusion?

I looked at the Pepsi on the ground.

Guess not.

Today's finally the day me and Rin will perform.

"Hey T!"

I turned around and saw Rin. "Hey Rinna." I smiled as I greeted her.

She grinned with a faint blush on her cheeks. "Your classmates and mine said we didn't have to do anything and just rest. Lucky for me though, because our little booth's a little worky--" she was talking but suddenly she coughed continously. I instantly got worried. "Hey, are you alright?"

"Huh?--cough--Yeah I'm--cough--alright--cough, cough--." She said. I then noticed how pale she was.

I called out Kiko for some water and made Rin sit down. She drank the water as I sat down.

"Did you overwork yourself? I mean, you have multiple jobs, right?"

"Yeah, I guess, and we swam a little--cough--last night as a treat from our---cough--boss, but--cough--I'm fine.." She insisted, coughing between words.

I checked her tempreture. She even has fever!

"Jeez, how irresponsible of you. I'll just have to ask Sensei and the others to reschedule the performance, but for now I'll take you to the clinic." I told her and carried her.

"Wha--I'll just walk, Trence! I can--"

"Say that if you don't look like passing out."

"But Trence, I weigh--"

"You weigh like my books, Rin. So chill." I said while carrying her to the clinic. The girls squealed and screamed upon our sight, and the boys teased us. I couldn't care less, because I have feelings for someone called Taileen.

She buried her face on my chest out of, I guess, embarrassment.

After reaching the infirmary, I made her sit down and called the nurse to check her. She actually had high fever and cough.

Once the nurse left, I sat down and waited for her to sleep, then she suddenly spoke up.

"This is what I really like about you Trence." She said with a warm smile.

"What about this?"

She giggled softly. "You being caring and nice."

"Seriously? Dude, if you're looking for someone caring and nice, go to Jack. He's like, a mother." I said, thinking of how Jack looked out for my health and other stuff.

"But you, sir, are the one I found first. Besides, Christopher isn't a person I call a friend. More like, an aquaintance rather than a friend." She said and laughed.

"I heard you and Jack talked to each other a lot when I was overseas."

"About you, mostly." She smiled.

Oh, right. I was actually overseas for quite a while. I only came back a week before the last school year started.

"That's creepy, Jack talking about me."

She laughed. "Hey, Trence?"

"Yeah?"

"I like you."

My eyes grew. "Holy cow."

She laughed again. "Just kidding, oh wait no. I'm not."

After a while, she slept.

I went outside and was greeted by a panicking Sensei.

"Is Ms. Clark there? Oh goodness. Is she really sick? How is she? She's alive right? Is she asleep?" She asked one after another.

"Yeah, she is, she's fine, alive, and asleep," I rolled my eyes, answering all her questions. This panicking Sensei is rare, but rather annoying. "Why are you panicking?"

"W-Well, because it's almost 3:30 PM. The time for the performance." She explained.

"Seriously? We only have forty minutes left! Can't we reschedule it? Rin's sick, anyway." I reasoned out.

"We can't! The student council scheduled it today, as well as the teachers."

"Then what?"

Sensei looked troubled, but suddenly she pulled out a sneaky grin. "I know! We should just pick someone else, Mr. Jones!"

"What?! We can't magically pick someone--"

"Ah, you there!"

I didn't pay attention to who Sensei picked. "Sensei, what you're doing is really stupid!"

"Ahh, shut your tarp! You can sing, right?"

"I can'--"

Wait.

"That's great!--"You didn't let me finish though--Just sing what you want!"

I froze on my spot.

"Mr. Jones, I found you a new partner!"

I slowly turned.

Taileen?!!
