I could here giggling. It was strange. After days of writhing pain, I now felt...light...lean...tight...and full of strength? It literally felt like my body was a coiled spring, really to strike, to spring into action and...whoa...it felt like I had the strength to jump mountains, to tear a cylinder block into small chunks!!! And I was thirsty, oh my God was I thirsty. It felt like I hadn't had water in years!

Coughing, I cleared my throat first and my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth. I couldn't talk if I'd wanted too. So I cracked my eyes open. The sun was shining bright in through the kitchen window. I was still on the kitchen floor. How much time had passed? Coughing again, I opened my eyes further. I was alone. At least in this room. I could still hear the giggles and laughter, coming from somewhere else in the house.

Pulling myself up, I startled. One moment I was on the floor and the next second, I was standing upright. I wasn't sure how it had happened. The movement was fast, streamlined...and so quick, that it was impossible!

Shaking my head, I turned on the faucet and water poured out. So we still had running water, awesome! I moved slowly, grabbing a cup, filling it up and sipping. My immediate reaction was choking. I coughed and coughed before I could breathe again. I noticed the laughing stopped. I took another drink immediately. I felt good this time. Smooth and refreshing. My stomach muscles clenched as the water slid in. It was uncomfortable and ached. Funny...it sounded like my body went to war, devouring the precious liquid.

The door burst open, and Sasha came running through with my Mom right behind her.

"Sage!" My mother cried out in relief.

I did a double take...oh my God...that was not possible!!!
