Noises.
You could hear sound, but it was as if cotton balls were lodged in your ears. You could hear the muffled talking around you, but you couldn't quite decipher where they were coming from and what they were saying.
Light.
As you peeled your heavy eyelids open, illuminating lights on the ceiling blinded you. Two unknown men you've never seen before stood above you, wearing blue shirts and their golden badges shone brightly in the light. You wanted to be frightened that there was these strange men above you in a foreign place, but you felt oddly safe. These men are here to help you...you think.
"Ma'am, can you hear me?" One of the men—perhaps paramedic asked. There was an oxygen mask over your mouth, preventing you from saying anything. You tried moving, but the other refrained you from doing so by pressing down on your shoulders.
"Ma'am, try not to move," the second paramedic said. "We have no idea how severe your injuries may be, and right now you're in shock which is not allowing you to succumb to the severity of your injuries."
The first paramedic flashed a flashlight in your eyes, muttering something alarmingly to the other one.
"Her pupils are dilated."
"She might be going into shock trauma."
Suddenly without warning, the events of tonight flashed through my mind like a horror movie. The fight, the storm, that ugly, vile man, the shack, and the rape. How could you have been so absentminded? Why did this happen to you? You had done nothing sinfully wrong to deserve something this severe! You had no intentions of having sex, or even kissing!—all you wanted was a good time. You wanted to start on a fresh, clean slate just for one night. But how could you be vulnerable, pathetic, oblivious, foolish, and a whore?
Why me? You thought over and over and over and over again.
"Tranquilizer, we need to tranquilizer her or she'll rip these IVs out of her arms," the paramedic shouted over your hyperventilating.
For the second time tonight, you slipped into a terrifying galaxy of darkness.

The pitter-patter of raindrops on the window soothingly travelled through the pale, empty room as a white noise. Outside it was still pouring, and the world seemed gloomy and dark. Inside it was even more exhausting, but in a smaller, compacted area. Besides the rain, the heart monitor beats rhythmically, and the murmuring from in the hallways echoed.
Your droopy eyes scanned the room; a hospital bedroom. The walls and tiles were a pale white, the chairs surrounding the bed was made out of mahogany wood, and the painting of a field of sunflowers seemed to hold so much sadness. You gazed down at your body, which was covered in a hospital gown and the lower part of your body was underneath thin sheets. An IV was plugged in your right arm, connecting to a IV bag that was hydrating you. The thought of a pointy, sharp needle stuck in your skin made you squirm a bit, but you tried your best to not be moving. Your fingers touched to your face, two cannulas inserted in your nostrils to pump oxygen through your body.
You were in a hospital. You're safe.
You wanted to know if anyone had identified you and called your family. They wouldn't call Ross since he is not an emergency contact, but surely your parents would notify Ross of the events.
Oh god... What am I going to do? What can I say? Should I say anything at all?
Your body hurt—everywhere. Every inch was crawling with a stomach-churning pain and you just wanted it to end. Your head was throbbing from all the emotions rushing through your mind. Everything was so surreal to process at once, and you felt like you were going to explode. The part that hurt the most was how helpless you were last night. Nobody was there to help you, and you could do nothing since he was stronger than you. No matter how hard you restricted, he had the power over you.
