Ross has showed up at your apartment, again. He had obviously gotten the text from you stating clearly that you wanted to take a break (a.k.a cutting all ties of this affair). He was waiting in the lobby instead of by his car in the parking lot. You were aware he was doing this because it forced you to let him up the apartment because you were not going to argue with him in the lobby.

"Good afternoon, sweet thang," Ross kisses his teeth, sending a wink in your direction as you walk in.

"What are you doing here?" You hiss lowly, your eyebrows knitted together.

"Hasn't anybody ever told you that breaking up with somebody over text message is cruel and cowardly?" Ross shoves his hands in the pockets of his jean jacket.

"We were never a thing!" You exclaim in exasperation, not caring if anybody heard you. "I'm fucking engaged, remember?"

"Then why'd you have sex with me?" Ross roars back, smirking mischievously. "What is it misperception?"

You growled under your breath, grabbing Ross's wrist and dragging into the elevator hastily. You shove him against the wall as the doors slide shut, only making Ross more amused.

"Woah, you missed me, didn't you?" Ross chuckles, placing his hands on your hips. "I never thought you'd want to do it in here...but that's fine by me."

"Ugh!" You groan, slapping Ross's hands off you. "I brought you in here because I don't want anyone to hear us."

   "Have sex...?"

"Fuck—no!" You shriek, stomping your foot on the floor. "Ross, quit being so fucking crazy! Why can't you just listen to me for once?"

You actually are fed up with him and his childish behavior. He needs to understand that this needs to stop now.

"Fine, I'm listening," he folds his arms calmly over his chest, removing his smug look.

"I know this is not only your fault because I got in bed with you, but we need to end this," you say sincerely. "I let this drag on for too long and I have to live with this guilt forever."

"You're serious," Ross said more of a question than a statement.

  "Definitely."

"Well...are you going to tell Alex?"

"Never," you shake your head. "I can't do that to him. It's best that he not know."

"Y/N, you can't create a marriage based off of lies and especially an affair."

"I have no choice," you explain. "I love Alex. I don't want to lose him and if I tell him, he'll break up with me. I know it sounds cruel, but he makes me happy."

"Wow," Ross scoffs, shaking his head laughing.

"What?" You knit your eyebrows together, frowning.

"You sound so sincere," he continues to laugh. "The irony of that is you cheated on him with me—your best friend. If you were so in love with him and happy, why'd you cheat?"

"I don't know!" You snap. "I made an mistake, okay?"

"You're still lying to yourself, Y/N," he deadpans. "Can't you see that? He doesn't make you happy and you don't love him. You just don't want to face that fact for some unknown reason."

"I do love him!" You shriek defensively. "I just made a mistake!" The elevator dings and the doors slide open sequentially. "You may leave now," you tell Ross over your shoulder as you step out of the elevator. "And if you are not willing to agree to my terms, then we can't be friends."
