You peer out your window at the house across the street, spotting a very hot boy shirtless outside in his front lawn. He's mowing the grass, even though his grass, like everybody else's grass is yellow and dying because of the California drought this summer. The boy pushes the mower across the yard in rows, occasionally wiping his forehead with the back of his hand, brushing his long black hair out of his eyes. He looks exhausted, and you feel bad because the scorching heat and beating sun probably doesn't help. His name is Luke, and he's twenty one years old, four years older than you. He's lived across the street from you for years and you've always had a huge crush on him. You just can't help it, not only is extremely attractive with his shoulder cut jet black hair, muscular abs and arms, his pearly white smile, and piercing blue eyes, but the way he moves is so sexy, he's always very polite, and he's genuinely sweet. Whenever he sees you he always waves hello or offers you that dazzling grin, making you go weak in the knees. He's so dreamy, but now he's barely around because he is twenty one and he'll most likely be graduating college soon, where he attends a nearby art school so he lives at home. You've never stopped liking him, but unfortunately you don't have the guts to approach him and flirt with him or anything because you're too shy. But you do go outside often when you know he's home or outside too, and you always wear more revealing clothes and make sure you sway your hips as you prance around your yard, pretending to be watering your mom's shrubs, or getting the mail. It's hopeless though, because he never really stares at you longingly, just briefly glances your way which always disappoints you. It's quite embarrassing, really, how much you are head over heels for him.

You're constantly gawking at him through your bedroom window, going outside and changing into sexier clothes just to catch his eye, and you even sometimes check his location with his BitMoji on the Snapchat Maps, so you can casually run into him wherever he is. You're feelings and infatuation for him have only progressed over the years, making your stalkerish actions towards him more humiliating.

Suddenly an idea pops in your head as you gaze longingly at Luke, as he struggles to mow around the bushes on the side of his house, brushing his damp hair out of his face. His muscles in his back tense as he retracts the mower, practically making you drool. Luke pauses briefly to throw his hair up in a swift bun, a look you found strangely alluring on him. You figure that maybe you can bring him over a nice, cool beverage. He's working hard and it's boiling outside, he must be dying of thirst. Surely he'll appreciate it, and it's a perfect opportunity for you to talk to him. You tear yourself away from the window, changing out of your leggings and T-shirt into a pair of short shorts and a grey V-neck crop top. You touch up your makeup a bit, applying more mascara, a little bit of eyeshadow, and lipgloss to your lips so they shimmer. You race downstairs into the kitchen, feeling relieved that you have the house all to yourself today because if your parents saw you walking across the street and talking with Luke, they'd become suspicious. Literally nobody knows about your terrible crush on your neighbor Luke, except for your best friend. You grab a clean glass from the cupboard, filling it with ice and pouring some cool Arizona tea in the glass until it's basically to the brim. You slip on flip flops before walking out into the garage, opening the doors and cautiously walking out. You're instantly greeted with a waver of heat and all the cool air from inside your house has dissipated on your skin. It's uncomfortably hot out, but you want this opportunity more than anything to properly talk to Luke. You glance over in Luke's direction, who's still mowing out in the front, but soon he'll make his way to the backyard, so you have to act quick. Although your stomach begins to crawl and your heartbeats faster.

What if he thinks it's weird that you're bringing him a drink? What if he feels uncomfortable that you watched him through the window? You're inner conscious makes you panic, but you have to do this. If you ever want to go out with Luke or move things along, you have to take this chance. Besides, you're just being neighborly.
