It must have been about an hour into my piano session, everything had quietened down and I felt more refreshed and ready to deal with people. I got up to walk out of the room and could have sworn somebody had been watching me. Walking down the corridor I spotted Lauren, she was just stood in the hall way, minding her own business.
Something didn't feel right. Suddenly a man with a balaclava turns the corner and see's us, I see red. A gun. I lunge forward on to Lauren. It's almost like a scene out of the Wild West, the security are on the other side of the corridor facing the intruder with their guns. The man had already shot at them. I was breathing heavily, with my body pressed against Lauren's trying to conceal her from being hurt. If anything I would rather take the bullet and lose my life, compared to her's. I look down into her eyes, it's like time has stopped for a second, and in that moment it's just the two of us there.
However, in the back of my mind sirens are going off to get myself and her away from this mess. We could get lost in each other's eyes if we had allowed ourselves, she's staring at me almost as if she is in shock and cannot move. In this second, I roll her on top of me and over to a dip in the wall that can barricade us from the gun fire. We are now crouched against the wall, she's looking at me frantically, if I don't do something quickly she might have a panic attack. Lauren's grip on my arm tightens. "Okay Lauren, we need to run straight across to those doors, if we want to live, are you with me?". She barely nodded her head. I moved her to my other side as I didn't want her to be injured, I needed to protect her at all costs, if anyone is going to be hit, it's
me. "Okay on the count of three..1...2...3". I grab her hand and run through the doors, not stopping to look back at the gun fire that can still be heard, panting away we made our way to the nearest exit, still panicked. To be met with police and sirens, tears streaming down her face I wanted nothing more than to hold and comfort her and tell her that everything is going to be okay. I won't let anything happen. We had been spotted and Lauren was being dragged away, the green eyed beauty bore her eyes into mine, with a panicked look on her face, almost as if she didn't want to leave me, knowing I had saved her life. I didn't even get to talk to her, this experience that we both went through together, made our connection, silently stronger. Something only to two of us could know. I was put into a car and taken away back to the hotel, after once being checked over. My only injury was shock, an emotional state I could no longer control, my mind working cohesively, trying to figure out what had just happened. Where was Lauren? Was she okay?
Once back at the hotel, I was escorted to my room, I opened the door to find Simon stood there. As soon as he saw me he wrapped his arms around me. "Thank god you are okay, we didn't know if you was going to make it out".
He barely whispered.
"I know, i didn't think I would either, how could this happen?". I began to cry quietly.
"I don't know, he snuck in and we think he was after someone, you know get big on tv, 10 minutes of fame, kidnapping that type of thing".
I sniffed, releasing my self from him and sitting down and breathing deeply. "You know he almost succeeded". Before laying down, Simon didn't question it anymore, he stayed with me until I fell asleep.
The next morning I had awoken to a dreadfully painful headache and empty apartment. I felt numb, it had overcome my body and I was now in a comatose type state. Staring at a wall, analysing everything. I checked my phone to see Simon had cancelled work for everyone and postponed the last auditions and pushed them back. There would be a meeting in a few days time, once we had all recovered and taken time for ourselves. I decided to watch some television to distract myself and ended up on the news channel.
"On sky news today, we have been informed of a man that stormed the xfactor auditions in Scotland with a gun, he has since been pronounced dead after some gun fire going back and forth".
I flicked it off, not wanting to see the picture they had released of him. I didn't need that in my mind, it was enough trouble forgetting the sound of the gun.
I decided to leave my hotel room and go for a walk, I can't stay hidden forever, you have to get back up on the saddle as they would say. I made my way out of the hotel room and too the bar, I might as well have a drink to relax me. I noticed a group of the X factor crew there and decided to go and sit with them. I listened in on the conversation, speaking a little here and there. It quickly turned to last nights events. One guy spoke up "yeah you know Lauren was protected and dragged out by someone, no one has seen her at all". Everyone was listening intently. As a blonde haired guy joined in. " I think she has taken time for herself, they rushed her out of there pretty quickly, heard she was in shock". I decided to go up to the bar for another drink not wanting to hear anymore. It hurt that I couldn't help her in anyway, I don't know why I keep feeling like this, I never usually dwell about people.
