"For the last time, you have to stay in bed, Angel. The doctor ordered it!" Aspen said to her in a frustrated tone. Angel looked at her sister and expelled a sigh and rolled her eyes. She adjusted herself once more because her back was getting sore from not moving and being forced to lie in bed. "Just let me out of this bed, and allow me to sit in a chair or to walk around. I'm perfectly fine, I assure you. I know that the doctor means well, but it is very boring lying here." Angel said as she attempted to remove her covers and to swing her legs from the bed. The door to her bedchamber opened and in walked William.
"I suggest you do what the doctor ordered. "Cherub." He said using the pet name her father would call her when she was being stubborn. Angel looked at her brother then let her head hit the pillow, "Oh no, not you." She teased then laughed. "As happy as I am to seeing you William, I just want out of this bed! Besides Aspen and Marian and then Tyler, I don't need another person worrying over me." She stressed out to all who were in the room. William moved closer to the bed and sat down onto the edge of the mattress and grabbed a hold of her hands. He sighed and stared at his sister.
"Cherub, you were almost killed! You could have died, due to the poison that you were fed, it's a good thing that Tyler rushed home and got the doctor to immediately see to you, otherwise, I would have lost you, my precious sister, and that man downstairs, that man who loves you so deeply would have lost you too death's hands. You must understand, Angel, that we all want to protect you, and don't wish to see anything happen to you! So will you please, please, stay in bed for us and to calm the worries that Tyler feels for you?"
"Fine! I promise to take things easy, but I will not stay in this bed! If I feel any pain because of the baby, I promise that I will lie down, though I won't be happy about it." She said as she stared at her brother. Again her door burst open, but instead of expecting to see Tyler enter, she was shocked to see all of the children enter the room. They all had worried looks on their faces, and as they came towards her, and the lights from the candles revealed their faces, Angel could see tears running down them. Angel opened her arms and gestured for them to come to her. All five came running, and jumped into her arms and hugged her fiercely. But it was the words that came out of James's mouth that made Angel want to cry the most.
"Will you be OK, now mother? Father said that you got really sick and almost died. You're not going to die and go to heaven, are you?" Angel could feel her own tears running down her face and she gathered James into her arms a little bit more and kissed his cheek, "No my darlings. I'm all better now." She said to James to reassure him. At that precise moment, the baby inside of her kicked. She supposed that the baby was also trying to let James know that they were both fine now. Angel took hold of James's hand and placed it on her middle, and told him to wait. James did and when the baby kicked again, and James felt it, he looked up at Angel and smiled.
"I can feel HIM mother, I can feel HIM! Or would it be an 'HER'?" The boys piped up and argued that the baby will be a boy, whereas Julia insisted that it would be a girl.
William got down and sat on the floor and gathered his nieces and nephew's into his arms and hugged them. "Whether the child inside your mother is either a boy or a girl, let's just hope that it will be born safe and healthy!"
The children agreed and hugged their uncle.
