Not Right For You

Chapter 5

Sakura

I was walking, glancing at my newly acquired first lecture notes from Ino, when I ran into him.

"Ow." I mutter and look up, rubbing my head.

"You." I sigh and drop my hand to give him an annoyed look.

"Yes, me. I just wanted to say I am sorry."

I raise a brow in surprise.

Really? Does he mean it?

"But don't expect me to say it to him. And if you say this to anyone, I will deny it." He adds looking away only to stare at me again.

"Then what's the use? You have hurt him with your words."

"I feel guilty. But I don't care about him enough to feel sorry about it. But you are another story." He states

My eyes widen and he quickly adds.

"It's not like I meant to... I mean I did. But not to that extent. You are his best friend. And you get affected if something happens to him. So I apologized."

"Yes, I do get affected by how you treat my family. I would also prefer that you go apologize to him but I know Naruto wouldn't care much about it at this point."

We stand there, not saying anything further.

"I have to go." I say quietly and walk around him. Our shoulders brush past and when I glance back, I see him staring at me.

I hurried my steps and got out of the college to head home. All through the short walk I try to forget Sasuke Uchiha by concentrating on what I was gonna say to Naruto.

I knock on his door but he doesn't answer. I become worried.

Where is he?

I take out my phone and call him but it goes straight to voicemail. I walk back to my door and unlock it to enter.

I see the missing blonde on my couch, dozing off clutching his favourite soft toy. A fox with nine tails.

I smile at the sight and take a picture. I shake him a bit to wake up. He groans and swats my hand away with a frown on his face.

"Naruto." I call out softly but he just ignores me.

I sigh and lean closer to his ear.

"Ahhh!!!" I scream at full volume and he jumps violently clutching his ears.

"What the hell! Sakura!" He growls and I take a step back, raising my hands defensively.

"You wouldn't wake up." I explain as he glares at me. I couldn't help but smile at his pouting face.

"I will show you." He says with a frown and suddenly attacks me, leading me to fall down with a loud thud and squealing out loud.

"What is happening?!" A voice yells, the door bangs open and a weird sound is heard. I feel Naruto relent a bit in surprise and I try to follow his gaze.

The next thing I know, Naruto is screaming his head off and rolling around, clutching his eyes.

I stare with my mouth agape at what is happening. I remember the bang and look around to see Ino and Hinata frozen to their spots staring at Naruto.

Ino blinks and slowly turns towards me and recognition flickers. I raise an eyebrow when I see her hand up with a small spray bottle.

"Aah!" I mutter to myself, finally understanding why Naruto was yelling out. As if a bulb flickered, I quickly got up from my spot and ran to the kitchen.
