Hinata

We watch warily as the rain pours down insistently.

"Ugh. Just halt for a few minutes so we can reach the car." Sakura sulks.

I sigh. We had stayed back on campus for a study group and some time in the labs and we came out of that cave to this sight.

"We should call Naruto. He will pick us up. We have been waiting for an hour already." Sakura looks at me pleadingly.

"I don't want to trouble him for this. We should just run to the car. It's not that far."

Frankly speaking, I would love nothing else than to call Naruto. I was having withdrawals of him just grinning at me with his happy go lucky face. But we haven't properly hung out since that sandwich debacle. We see each other, talk to each other and sometimes he even walks me to my car but it hasn't been the same as before the term ended. Somehow he always has plans that I come to know after. He keeps hanging out with Sasuke or Shion and surprisingly with Konohamaru. And I came to know all this not from Naruto but from Sasuke.

And he is well within his right to hang out with anyone he wants. I am just sad that it's not with me. After being constantly in his presence, it's a bit hard to go back to not hanging out every other day. I realise that it's quite childish to even think this and that's the whole reason I am trying not to call him and feed my ridiculous tendencies.

"- Hinata?" Sakura shakes my shoulders. I break out my reverie of staring at the rain and being lost in my thoughts.

"Gomen." I mutter and look at her. Sakura looked worried and I smiled to reassure her.

"Okay. Let's run fast." Sakura says and I nod.

We run to the car and sit inside before locking the door. We look at each other and giggle

I realise something and groan.

"What?" Sakura asks

"Forgot my bag. God, I am such a scatterbrain today." I sigh as I adjust the rearview mirror and easily spot my bag.

"I am gonna run back. I may need a change of clothes."

Sakura nods.

I take a deep breath and open my door. I slam it shut and run back to the building and grab my bag.

Ugh! My bag's gonna get wet in this wretched downpour.

I shield my bag and crouch a little to protect it. I start jogging back when a familiar figure appears in front of me under a huge umbrella.

I halt my pace and he walks to me and smiles.

"Hinata sama." He smiles widely. "I can drop you back to your car."

I grit my teeth in annoyance.

Really? This guy. I have to deal with him now?

I groan inwardly and decide to just walk so that this conversation is cut short as much as possible.

"Toneri." I nod stiffly in acknowledgement

"You will not ask how I knew you would be here?"

He asks

"Does it matter? You are here in front of me either way. What I would like to know is if I should report to the police that I have a stalker."

Toneri chuckles.

"Your sense of humour is still intact, I see."

Glad you also see the humour in the comedy that is my life, I think bitterly.
