Naruto
"Ya know, you could get off that couch and help me instead of letting me run around like a headless chicken!" I growl at the languid figure on the couch as I hunt my books down and shove them in my backpack.
Shion looks up from her guitar and smiles.
"I could." She nods. "But it's far better not doing anything and watching you run around."
I roll my eyes, not bothering to answer her and zip my bag close. I have been having a rotten day so far with missing my alarm and being behind schedule.
I grab my sandwich and look for my keys.
"I will see you later. I gotta run." I mutter as soon as I spot my keys. I sprint, hearing a non-committal hum behind me.
We had midterms last week so I was more stressed than usual. Everybody has been busy with studying and exam giving. And I haven't been able to hang out with Hinata alone since the café. Shion has pretty much settled down in Konoha. She hangs out at mine all day and crashes Sakura's couch at night or if she is too lazy, she will just crash at mine.
I park my car and get out, my sandwich still uneaten and glued to my hand. I munch on it while jogging up to the college. I spot Shikamaru and wave to him. He simply nods and smirks at me. I frown but pay no mind to him.
"Naruto!" I hear a sudden yelp before hearing an oof.
"Shit!" I curse as I watch my sandwich fall from my hands.
"Hello! Help me up you baka."
I help Ino up with a sheepish smile, still mourning my sandwich's untimely demise.
"Sorry Ino."
"Naruto kun." Hinata pops up behind me and I turn to her with a wide smile. My smile slips a bit when I see Sasuke walking behind her.
Hinata giggles and before I know it, her thumb brushes away something from my lips. I see mayo on her thumb and my mouth instinctively darts forward and wipes it off her thumbs.
I blush as I realise I just licked mayo off her thumb like a dog.
"Ahh sorry! Guess, I was hungry? Arigato Hinata chan!" I blurt before turning back, ignoring Ino's curious gaze and sprinting away from the source of my embarrassment.
'Isn't that you yourself in every situation?' an inner voice speaks up.
"Shut the fuck up." I mutter, annoyed.

"Naruto!" Hinata calls but I keep walking. I had headphones on for this very reason. Nothing was playing really, I just wanted a valid reason for not engaging with anyone. Just in case, I slyly start playing music and control my urge to run away. I expertly dodge a sprinting student and increase my pace.
I see my car ahead and breath out a sigh of relief. I throw my bag in the passenger seat and close the door, only to be cornered by Hinata.
"Oh. Hey Hinata." I say casually as I slip my headphones off.
Her eyes narrow and I look at her innocently. She seems to buy it cause she steps back and suddenly there is just tense silence.
"Do you wanna hang out?"
Oh, so we are just ignoring and moving past it? Cool by me.
"Uhhh, I can't?" It comes out more as a question than a statement.
"Are you asking me or telling me?" Hinata tilts her head.
I take a deep breath, "Telling you. I have plans with Shion." I find myself telling her.
